I've been making an effort to close down more projects than I start this winter. It feels good. Would recommend.

Anyone want to buy a 4.10 e-locker axle so I don't have to install it?

In case anyone's actually interested--I bought it last year from TMFF's 130k mile part-out. Paid $1k including the 4x4 ECU and wiring pigtails. Knocked some rust off and gave it a fresh coat of Rustoleum. It's currently sitting in my garage partially disassembled (half-shafts out, brakes cables and lines removed) due to lack of motivation. No urgency to sell at the moment but I'd take what I paid ($1k) and throw in the paint for free.

Tempting. Be curious to know a ballpark of what he thinks it's worth.

Ya, I'd call that a win.

I've been shedding some projects that I no longer feel up to and getting rid of old hobby stuff which is nice to have the physical/mental space back. worked out some steering issues on the crawler but haven't made much progress on the other projects that I was planning to get done though. My energy to do stuff after work has really tanked

I'm currently trying to limit myself to one indoor and one outdoor project in progress at a time. No starting/working on anything else until the in-progress project is done. Current indoor project is sewing curtains for my dining room. Current outdoor project... not sure. I just finished the shed roof, so I can start something new. I should probably get that 240v garage heater I bought wired up, eh? And maybe get some lights installed as long as I'm calling an electrician.

Decluttering those things you aren't excited about helps, too. And if you can get a few bucks in your pocket from selling stuff off, even better.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm scared to take inventory of how many inside/garage projects I have in flight

I bet you'll enjoy having the garage heated, it sure makes other projects go smoothly

    it's pretty damn dope

Then the goal posts move from "you've made it when you have a heated garage" to "you've made it when you have a heated garage AND driveway"

I really need to get my shop heated too. I’ve been using dumb little electric heaters to take the edge off, but I’d love a more permanent solution.

I set my old garage up for a 240v heater but never got the heater itself installed before I moved :homer:

I liked using the propane jet heater, 20 minutes on high would get the temp from 30~ to 70~ lol still keep it around in case I have to work outside for whatever reason

are you lucky enough to have a gas line running through your garage?

    No gas line, sadly :(

I really wish that I did, because I’m limited already on the amps I have going to the shop sub panel from the house. A gas heater would draw next to nothing and would heat the shop up in no time.

That said, there’s nothing in the way between the gas meter and the shop, so maybe it’s at least worth asking about!

What would be the best scenic route from Farmington NM to pagosa springs ? Google has me taking the 550 to 160 but i don't mind taking a more round about way if it's worth it.

I heat my garage with a 240v heater. Stays on the lowest setting and keeps the garage at 50 to keep paint and stuff from freezing.
Takes about 10 minutes to heat up to 70ish when I need to spend time in there. Adds about $17.00 to the electric bill each month.

gas lines are easy to run btw, they don't freeze like water lines.
I ran my own gas line for the kitchen stove years ago when I upgraded from the electric pos. Just tee'd that fucker off the line for the water heater.
    Haven't blown up yet.

Gas scares the shit outta me, but I know it can be done safely. Nice to know that you did it and it worked out.

I’ll have to think about maybe stubbing a line out the basement when I do the same for power for one of our sheds…

Is your garage insulated at all?
