I was at the dealership finalizing the trade in for my 19 TRD off road and the salesman printed off the report showing all the details. It’s called Toyota pipeline ETA & inventory summary. I’ve googled this but it seems to be a internal Toyota dealer site I can’t access.

That means it has been built, now off to port soon!

    Excellent work, it'll come soon!

I would work with as many dealers as you can tolerate, raise the odds, it's all odds-based as they all get different trucks. If it took that long to even get told you were on a list they either didn't communicate clearly, or you all misunderstood their process, either way I would expand the search. Anyone who will do MSRP, call them all on allocation day and see what they got, or better yet, have them reach out to you when they get something in that matches your parameters. Unless you are looking for a TRD Pro, that length of silence shouldn't be happening. Best of luck on Truck 2!

I'd call farther. I called into another state. My state is huge, and I would go anywhere. I would look in all of Mass and neighboring states.

However, I do want to note that just waltzing even a few hours away to buy a car isn't always easy. Tons of stories of people driving down to sign the papers or deposit, and them raising the price on the spot. It's not as easy as it looks and I am glad I didn't have to do that.

Man this post didn’t age well. Sales guy let me know he actually meant the port arrival was 25th, then that he misread it and it’s the 27th, and now, it’s delayed and 29th arrival to port. That’s 18 days to port if it actually arrives then - this par for the course for most? Haven’t seen a lot of data on port travel time.

Yes, not unusual. Transportation is contracted out by Toyota. For instance, from the factory in Baja they are transported by ship on the west coast. It takes about 8 days to reach the two different ports near L.A. then another 3 days to the Port of Portland. At those locations the accessories are added. They are then parked awaiting rail transport. The rail system has to have a number of vehicles to profit for transport. About every 500 miles the rail system has a yard for vehicle unloading which is then dependent on ground transport the last 250 miles or less to a dealer. All of these entities are contracted out so the time table may vary from Toyota’s initial estimate for arrival.

You guys are getting lied too,

the dealer can make changes up to about a week and half before build date once the vehicle is allocated to the region,

I just made changes for a projected build 10 days out.

Every dealer and that is at least a dozen plus of them say no changes... Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, and Montana all say no go...

    What state are you in?

Thanks for the reply - very interesting. I wonder what its route is to the GST Port in Houston, from Baja?
