You can always install a throttle body spacer with a helix type bore if you want to sound like its supercharged. Doesn't do anything for performance though.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    I haven't figured out why.
She's also a bit heavy handed on the brake when a car 10 car-lengths ahead hits the brakes.
But don't dare critique them about it.

    On modern vehicles no way.

Surprisingly I got better MPGs on my 07 ranger after I got a magnaflow muffler welder in.

I have intake and Borla cat back and absolutely no difference in MPGs. Sounds fantastic though.

Best advice for best MPGs right there.

I would also add, keep your unsprung weight as light as possible.

I got at most 1.5mpg highway when I installed my snorkel but I already had supporting intake and exhaust mods done.

    Snorkel alone won't do much.

They tell me that putting your radio on a good classic rock station will help improve your MPG, tremendously. YMMV

lol that was 11:47am. little to early.

right now, working on it. lol

but i did see in some build threads where people add snorkels and they do report getting some mpgs out of them. kind of confused me because i would imagine it would do the opposite. aerodynamics and all.

Yep, she LOVES to press the gas, then lightly tap the brake. Then step on the gas some more.

Only boring things will boost MPG sadly
    • Driving like your grandpa - light throttle
    • Unaggressive lame highway tires for less rolling resistance
    • Ugly chin splitter for aerodynamics
    • No lift kits or extra road armor (too much weight)
    • "Go fast" parts won't do much without a performance tune. Even then, more performance would equal to more fuel consumption.

Don't forget to calculate how many miles you have to drive for the fuel savings to break even with what you spent.

80% load at 2-2.5k RPM is your best friend
Contrary to popular belief, "grannying" it is not the most beneficial

The first 6 are like 1-2% improvements. You really just want to do anything possible to reduce braking. Time your street lights, coast to stops as far in advance while not being an asshole, coast, coast, coast.

    None.
Leaving the tailgate down will reduce aerodynamic drag. Ditto for folding the mirrors back.
