I just added on board water tank and system to the top of my rack and the truck. I like to have things easy (On Board) When I decide to go camping. Is she right? I now have on Board Water and an extension off the back off the softopper with a tarp to keep us dry if it rains. You tell me?

And then today I added an onboard water tank to the roof rack. Based on this thread.

And that's when she made the comment? Redneck Yes or No?

That's what I'm thinking! The first time she rinses off the dishes with a water pump while camping I'm just going to smile and say who's the reckneck now!

Nah, looks good. Redneck would be if you built the camper out of used pallet from big box store, set a generator on a hitch mount rack to run a window shaker air conditioner in the camper.

I think I've told her a little more than than this but it was close enough. We've been married 35 years. I can talk dirty to her!

Sadly shes totally right. You are showing some subtle signs no doubt about it. Pretty soon you'll be wearing all camo and the couch will magically make it's way out to the front yard and after that it only goes down hill from there. It's not to late to admit you have a problem. I suggest going to Redneck Anonymous for help and get on top of this so it doesn't progress any further. I wish you good luck.

In all seriousness if it does its job well then looks aren't a big deal. I think the tarp idea is cool. Do you have any pics of it all assembled?

This is my first trial and error using pvc tubing. It was to weak so i switched to metal framing to make it more rigid but you can get the main idea.

I agree there's probably a better way to do this but I had these poles in my basement from an outdoor square awning that we haven't used in 10 years. So I just robbed the poles for free since I was about to take it to the dumb anyway. I guess I'm a cheap redneck! Ha!
