Glad to see the Ducks beat TB. too bad the Cuks couldn’t beat the Panthers though they did take it to a shootout.

Pens played a pretty sloppy game and got away with a win. 2 kind of flukey goals on Hellebuyck. It's crazy how opportunistic the Pens are. They rarely play 60mins of good hockey but can break out and come back or go ahead if needed. I haven't decided if it's a good thing or a bad thing, at this point lol.

In the time we have had Carter I have learned that he is a finisher. Yes, his goal was fluky because Hellbuyck misplayed it, but Carter was at a wonky angle and he did not miss. It seems many of his goals have been in tight, close to the goal crease, where he snipes it in.

Brutal. Injuries are always going to be a huge story with his career. I still think he lost a step when he had the achilles injury. But unfortunately he's had several injuries after. That's tough for SJ who invested so much in him.

Exactly. And he was starting to play like himself this season, but it was just a matter of time before another injury. I'm still bitter about what they gave away to keep him.

Yep. I love the guy but it's just tough to admit that SJ hasn't benefit from that signing and they've only really had small windows where he looked like himself (or what they expected when they signed him.)

I don't think he was ever bad in Toronto but I think maybe the whole way media/fans are there just wore him down. It's a tough place to play goalie. And sometimes when goalies lose their confidence, it's hard to get back. It's nice to see him do well in Carolina. Alex Nedeljkovic made a bit of a name for himself there and I wasn't sure what to think of him but he's still doing well in Detroit, so I guess it's not just Carolina's system that is helping these guys. They are just good lol.

I hated it when they let Nedj go because they didn’t want to pay what he was worth, would love to have him and Freddie both. I didn’t think Freddie would be as good as Nedj and glad I was wrong. Oh come on, you know the Canes defense helps any goalie haha. Nedj Stats don’t lie, you’re right he’s good, and Canes D helped him be better:

Ya for sure. I guess I should clarify. Nedj being somewhat of an unknown to me, I wasn't sure if he was a mirage that just looked good because of the Canes. But he proved, that in Detroit he is a good tendy and is still performing well at Detroit. So good on him. And like I said, Anderson is solid. And just getting into a new atmosphere behind a good system allowed him to rebound his confidence, which is cool.

Totally agree on all of your points. I expect Nedj to only get better as he gains experience, we gave away too much there letting him go. Detroit has a winner in him.

Pens/Kings was a pretty good game. Kings played really well.

Indeed ! Thought it would be a low scoring game, but glad I was wrong.

The one thing that was really odd is on our local broadcast (which I assume you did not see) they were talking about how the Pens had an insane amount of hits and the Kings had way less. But it didn't feel that way at all lol. But ya, most of those goals were pretty much unstoppable by either goalie. Good game.
