Got first tracks up Grassy Gap today, was nice with a few inches of fresh snow to roll through. Wanted to connect over to the Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa River, but there were trees down with power lines wrapped up in them just past the trout hatchery so turned back and went towards Nimblewill. Every Jeep owner in Georgia and their brother was on Winding Stair Gap in bigass groups and none seemed to understand how passing worked, just a total mess.

The most I did was a powerline road that connects between two roads in our neighborhood. Completely boring but the kids loved it.

We ran into a couple huge groups of people heading out to Tray Mountain as well. Ended up all alone at Popcorn Creek but two vehicles had been through there before us. Saw another group at the end of popcorn creek that said they were going to Charlie’s Creek. Sunday was certainly the day for it!

We spent this past weekend at Windrock for Winter Wonderland. Turned out to be Winter Mud Fest, didn't catch snow there, but still had a blast

Going out to Charlie’s Creek this Saturday to see what all the grading has left us with. Going to try and hit a few nearby trails followed by camping Saturday night. Won’t be able to do Popcorn Creek since there will be a 2WD with me.

So it’s true what everyone says, Charlie’s Creek has changed from a fun spirited trail to something just about any sedan could do comfortably. Multiple campsite blockades along with boulders blocking offshoots.
Was stopped by the Towns County sheriffs department at the trail head and had the pleasure of talking to a local officer that has been assigned to monitor the trail. They have had multiple signs and gates stolen as of lately and they are trying to enforce the local ordinances. He was quick to mention that he hoped this would open peoples eyes and prevent the trail being closed.

I was up in Big Canoe this weekend and they have a small short trail call the "jeep trail" pretty fun little trail with a few water falls and stream crossings. 4wd is needed and a little ground clearance. Stock trucks would be fine but I wouldn't take an AWD forester or outback on the trail.

Is it inside Big Canoe or just in that area? I would like to check it out. Always looking for nearby trails.

I was up there with some college friends for the weekend at an airbnb rental and we got where trying to think of stuff to day and someone came across the trail. It was a super spur of the moment thing but I do plan to go back and do it again b/c it really was a cool little trail but nice stopping points. I'll definitely let you know when so we can meet up.

Is this the trail with a relatively steep hill climb close to the exit? It’s been 14 years since I’ve been out there. Use to hit a trail in there and a waterfall but I haven’t been able to recall the actual name for awhile.

What about a 2wd with a winch and clearance is not an issue since I'm about as high up as an accord

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
So when is the TCase going in?

Yes that would be it. Super sharp switch back to the right and then steep hill out. One way trail.
They just had it labeled everywhere as "jeep trail"

I would think you would be able to manage most of it. I didn't use 4wd til the last 25% of the trail
