@afgixxer Honestly it had more to do with watching builds & content from Last Line of Defense & Talon Sei, who both use the Front Runner system. I did look at the Yakima Outpost but at double the price just couldn't justify it. If I had other products from their ecosystem I may have gone for it, but for our needs the FR is great

Same here man! I love watching llod. Not sure how I feel about talon. It seems kind of a copy cat to be honest.

A local stereo shop owner told me “you would be surprised how many people replace their JBL systems in their Tacoma’s”. I didn’t get the tech package so mine really sucks! :D

Oh ok. I wasn’t trying to be a smart azz. Just seems I think 3k was a lot to swap on stock and components. I got lucky and mine has the advanced tech package. It has some downsides though.

takes up another button for the 360 view on the left panel and the jbl takes up the passenger pocket behind the seats

All good, wish I had the problem of the extra button for the 360 view :D but having the extra storage behind the passenger seat is priceless. I’m sure it’s 1000% better than the Silverado stereo though; I’ve owned GM products in the past and replaced the sound system in all of them. I think when I replace my speakers it will be a huge improvement.

Well, ordered the tailgate locking kit yesterday (picking it up tomorrow). Ordered a canopy today. Truck came with a soft tonneau ($400 one from CDN tire) but after a couple weeks hemming and hawing, realized I still like to have a canopy. Installed a bed liner today as well to protect the tailgate from ocean (scuba diving related).

I bought a new 17 Sport TRD and traded in for a new 21 Sport TRD and both of them had locking tailgates?

Think he might be referring to the remote tailgate lock. :notsure:

Do you have a button for the tailgate or is there a sequence such as with the remote start?

My sport didn’t but I bought the mirror myself
It’s either user error in the procedure (it can be extremely picky on following instructions exactly) or your opener has an older version of homelink. Would need a new opener or homelink repeater (which acts as the “middle man”)

I think it took 2 or 3 returns until I was happy.
Yes this if the mirror doesn’t program to your opener.
