Start by removing and reinserting your gas cap. Make sure it clicks. Then drive around a few miles and see if the light turns off.

Traction control and VSC utilize engine cut to perform their duties. If there are engine malfunctions pending the traction control and VSC systems aren't allowed access to modify engine output thus they can't operate properly so they're disabled. Fix the engine issues and everything will return to normal.

Ok thanks. I readjusted the cap and I drove to the bar. The lights are still on.
I’ll see if they return to normal when I leave.

If the light is from a gas cap, it will shut off automatically, usually after 5 miles of driving or 5 startups. Something like that.

What @ShimStack said plus folks not having access to features like cruise encourages them to get the situation fixed instead of driving around with a CEL on.

If the gas cap didn't fix it, do you happen to top off the tank past the first click? If you do, the stupid expensive charcoal canister system might be toast.

Don’t panic. Most likely, just the gas cap (hoping). If the above suggestions don’t work, just get a new gas cap.

Ok thanks guys. Adjusted the cap, reset the codes, now the engine light is off. Let’s hope the issue is gone.

Possible vapor canister issue. These tend to have issues when you try to push as much gas as you can when you fill up.

Stop doing that, gas is getting into the evap system. Fords are notorious for doing it, it makes filling them painfully slow unit the canister is replaced.

I'm just a passerby to this thread but I really appreciate this info. Also, Thanks @jardoo for asking; I've been guilty of doing this a number of times and didn't know this was a thing that can happen.

fuck. So I guess I should replace the canister? If I don’t, is it bad? I can just keep resetting the codes. We don’t really have emission laws here in the Middle East.
