Well, ordered the tailgate locking kit yesterday (picking it up tomorrow). Ordered a canopy today. Truck came with a soft tonneau ($400 one from CDN tire) but after a couple weeks hemming and hawing, realized I still like to have a canopy. Installed a bed liner today as well to protect the tailgate from ocean (scuba diving related).

I bought a new 17 Sport TRD and traded in for a new 21 Sport TRD and both of them had locking tailgates?

Do you have a button for the tailgate or is there a sequence such as with the remote start?

My sport didn’t but I bought the mirror myself
It’s either user error in the procedure (it can be extremely picky on following instructions exactly) or your opener has an older version of homelink. Would need a new opener or homelink repeater (which acts as the “middle man”)

I think it took 2 or 3 returns until I was happy.
Yes this if the mirror doesn’t program to your opener.

Forgot to post yesterday- finally got some sun over here so I went out and put mud flaps on the truck. Shout out to @Montana_Actual for a deal on some RokBlokz. The regulars are great with my 285/70/17s- hopefully that's still true when I throw some 1.25" spacers on later

The bad thing about Homelink is it's a major royal PITA to get to work. On both my previous vehicles I almost gave up and said fuck it. This is why I have no interest in Homelink and will just use a regular remote. Good luck to those who have to fight this silly unneeded problem.
