Oregon and Washington BS thread

i do not know anything about this place but a guy at my shop that is in a lot of local 4x4 clubs said that shotgun creek out of Brownsville is a good area. i am going to try to check it out but if anyone knows anything about it let me know.

 

Have any of you Portland area folks ever heard of or been to the Jones Creek trail in the Yacolt Burn area northeast of Vancouver?

Is that the area that was being developed by Pistons Wild? I read the early bit of them acquiring land but I haven't heard anything recent.

how are the trails you guys are gonna go on for the meet? i have never taken my car off road except for the beach back home in hawaii. my t4r has a small spacer and besides that is stock.

If you have the 4Runner and you have at least rugged trails, you should be fine.
I went through stock, it was a bit unnerving but that's because I didn't trust my clearance. Remember that whenever something doesn't feel right, stop. Just stop. We will come help you no matter the situation.

 

hmmm well right now ive got bfg a/t on there. but they are pretty worn down. looking into getting a new set soon, i wanted duratracs but cant find any place with a decent price. anybody know some places near corvallis?

 

dont want to sound like a pooper but should i expect to damage something? i wish i had some sliders but i dont really wanna smash my doors...

I don't know specs for a 4runner, do you have ATRAC or a locking diff? I'd say 4Lo will do just fine, but you might find that you need assistance from a locker if you have a bit of a slippery patch. A more seasoned driver could find a way out, but I don't believe that anyone can cheat too much

Damage is avoidable the more cautious you are. You would breathe easier, go faster, and be more aggressive with sliders. Without them, we simply take our time more and find a safer path. If you are still uneasy about the concept, I would suggest that you come along and park at the trailhead and ride along. Each trail is fairly short, and we can retrieve your vehicle afterwards, where you can determine if you would like to join in or continue as passenger.

 

dude Americas/discount tire in Salem did my duratracs (price match 4 wheel parts) for like 209 a tire, then for dirt cheap like and extra $40.00 total they gave me a no fault warranty (which i have already used once with get success) so all in all it the cheapest i have found and they really took care of me. find the best local price you can and make them beat it.
