Must be a similar sort of thing then - I find it hard to believe it takes over 2 weeks to travel by rail to Houston so there must be some stopping or installing going on as you mention before port arrival.

It’s about 950 miles from Guanajuato, Mexico to Houston. Once your vehicle arrives (with many other vehicles) at the Texas border it has to go through customs. That in itself takes time. Toyota has “ports” where they have employees add accessories. The rail through Mexico, customs, arranging transport here in the U.S.A., port add on, ground transport by truck, all take time.

So I believe I can say it’s at port before my salesperson can even confirm. Or maybe they turned it on for customs check etc. How? Well they made me start my trial of connected services when I signed for it on the build day, and it hasn’t updated since that day when they tested the truck and put air in the tires which you can all see from the app.

Yesterday, 16 days later, the app has updated “last vehicle connection” to yesterday at 6:31 pm. This has said January 12 for ages. So monitor your app if you had already setup connected services.

Do you mind sharing which app this is? Toyota offers a few different ones in the Apple app store.

Same, it is red with Toyota logo. @Barsoom does yours change the "last updated" every time you turn it on?

It updates on the front page when I turn the truck on.
Notifications update every time truck is used.

Do you know if this is standard with every truck, or is this the subscription thing they give you a few months free

Hmm. I don't have those notifications. Maybe that happens once it's in the owner's hands or something.

My wife uses this on her truck "luna" and it even rates your driving. She busted me 4 disabling traction control while doing brodies to show off for my boys. But come on.... this truck is too cool to NOT do brodies in!!

Where did you put a deposit down? I put one down at auto nation on 1/7 and Clearwater Toyota on 11/24. Both for LR or AG off road shirt bed. Haven’t heard a peep from either

Update: Put down deposit around 12/15/2021, just heard from dealer it is supposed to be built on 1/28/2022, should arrive by end of February. I don't know what this screenshot from the dealer means. It says San Diego, but I'm pretty sure they're building this in Mexico. Is San Diego the port or something?

Is the dealer in San Diego? Ports for Toyota on the west coast are Benicia (near Oakland), Long Beach, and Portland, Oregon. They are built in Mexico.

How do they handle north east bound trucks? Last I heard about my truck was that it was in Pennsylvania on a train and that 2 weeks later it would make it to the NJ port. Seems like a very slow train...

Have you spoken with your dealer recently to inquire it’s whereabouts?

No the dealer is in Alton, IL near St. Louis. This makes me wonder if they did some kind of "allocation trade" with some dealer in San Diego and the vehicle will arrive there first, and then get shipped to my dealer. As long as they don't try to charge me for shipping, I don't care, but maybe there's a risk of that dealer "stealing" mine and selling it to a different customer. Who knows, it's all just speculation at this point. All I have to go on is a screen shot my salesman took with his cell phone
