I used to buy sausage seasoning and add pork trimming’s, ground bacon and crushed red peppers, but now I just have a local butcher shop make it.

The issue in Arizona (and other states) is that trail cams used on public lands, specifically around water holes got out of control. There are water holes with 10, 15, 20 trail cams located around the perimeter in an effort to "claim" a spot. Same with elk wallows on public. Confrontations were becoming more frequent as hunters would try to hunt someones "spot" on public land. Additonally, the cellular cams were being used in a manner that those with resources ($$) would have outfitters monitor the cameras, real time, and when a specific animal would show, the client would be called and the "hunt" would begin. Pretty sure you can still use trail cams in Arizona. But once hunting seasons start they need to be removed.

As with all technology, it can be fun, useful, AND abused. Here in PA, our state game lands and state forests (ie public land) trail cams are growing like mushrooms after a wet spring. Mostly in an effort to "lock down" a spot. Treestands can be put up two weeks (I think) before the season and need to be removed within two weeks after the season. However trail cams can be left out all year. And used to "claim" a spot.

Not saying I agree with Arizona's rule, but I fully understand the issue on public land. Sometimes, we hunters are our own worse enemy. BTW, the FO requirement in CO durng the overlap with the nine day muzzy season was struck down. I also beleive two more units will be added (archery only) to LE or draw, 14 & 214. Which only pushes more into the OTC units in northern Colorado.

That’s why I posted. Makes sense to me even though I don’t necessarily agree with it. That’s also the reason I only hunt public land out west

    Hello guys, me again.

Im hunting in Mexico this year and hopefully a few more.

Hunting over there with guns is a hassle. Permits only last about 4 months, and buying a gun registered in Mexico is 2-5x the cost of one here in the US. Buying one illegally is too risky, not worth the hard penalties from over there.

We have a yearly lease, but can only have rifles there during deer season, after that its either a Mexican gun, or something that's not fire powered. that's where archery comes in. I wanna pick up a crossbow or two and hunt hogs out there with em out there. Does anybody know of a hog hunting powered bow I could hunt with up to about 50yds?

Most of the crossbows today are capable of killing hogs. I shoot a ravin and really like it. Other popular brands are, Ten Point, Mission, Excalibur and there are others. Crossbows nowadays can shoot 400-500 feet per second and are very accurate out to 60-70 yards.
