What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Nice! Mine is sitting the same, 3rd gen springs and shocks all around, and OR wheels. That’s a sharp truck!

 

Oil change, other routine maintenance, new pads and shoes with resurfaced discs/drums, and a much-needed bath!!!!

 

how hard was that to install? and roughly how much did it cost? I need to start replacing my suspension and have been considering that

 

So you installed the bearing kit along with the 5100s? I like the stance of your truck. I want it slightly lifted with upgraded suspension like what you've go there.

 

I think I paid $350-$400 for the coil overs and rear shocks and the UCA’s (they were newer, so I swapped them too) + $100 for rear leafs. Only tough part of install was swapping the UCA’s which is totally unnecessary.
If you find some cheap takeoffs on FB or Craigslist, it is worth it.

 

I did 5100s at 0 with 884s and an AAL in the back. Didn't do any bearing or differential stuff. Got 2" front and rear and have no issues with shaft vibration. I absolutely love the stance of it.

Oh man that does look good. Knowing my luck it'll have vibration lol. I don't even have bilstein stock on it now since it's a base model. But I wonder if that affects the drive line angled at all anyway

 

Dpele, it was not OEM but it looks just like an original. It was 35 bucks plus tax. I just went on Amazon.

3rd gen steps arrived. I had nFab hoops but they really rusted out over a few winters. Hopefully better luck with these aluminums.

 

That’s what I thought but it doesn’t at all. Even at full flex. CMC, pinch weld, and trimmed fenders at the bottom with metal trimmed inside as well.

 

Finished sanding the last piece for my retrofit. This bezel had a gloss finish so i scuffed it down to matte. Just have to cut down my second shroud to match the first, then it's ready to be dropped off for paint.

 

Ordered Spotter Mirrors finally. Can't wait to wire them up. I need heated mirrors. Also wish I was 2 order numbers later

So I just dropped off some parts to the repair shop. Put an OME full lift on around the end of December and then had an accident on the way to have it aligned....
It was mostly my fault so I can't get pissed at anyone else. Anyway. Was hit on front passenger side wheel. Not quite 4k damage. Insurance finally approved repair. New wheel/tire, lca, steering knuckle, cv shaft, stabilizer link..., minor body damage. Needless to say it wasn't a good day. Trying to get it back on the road.

 

Finally got around to replacing the PCV valve. It improved the idle immediately.

 

Mines sitting in a box on my dinning room table staring at me because it's like 20 degree wind chill. Even in Atlanta!

 

That's some serious tile inlet for a garage. sharp!

Would an overtime drop on the noggin mean it takes time and a half to fall? (Double the time on a holiday.)
