    Im about to pull the trigger on some pro comp rims that are 16x8 with a 4.5BS and putting 285/75's on them but want to make sure they dont stick out to far from the body. ( not a fan of that look) So if anyone has this type of set up and could snap a pic from the front and back so that I can see, i would greatly appreicate it.

    I've been lookin around and some people say you'll be good with 4.5" backspace. that doesn't really make sense to me, I feel like with 285s you would rub the uca

    yea ive got 4.5" backspace and my 285's are about an 1" away from the uca.

    it depends on the sidewall of the tire... ATs will clear, but aggressive MTs won't...

    and if you actually use the truck in the dirt, airing down will help you realize the other parts of the truck where the tires will rub...

    i met someone once who swore up and down that 285s would clear at 4.5" backspace... when i looked under his wheel well, you could see where the sidewall was rubbing on the frame... but since he never heard it above his radio in the cab, he swore it wasn't rubbing...

    the bare metal on the frame showed the contrary...

    i have tried various set ups in the past and wasted a lot of time and money... if you have the same to try different set ups, then go for it...
