Further, a winch would be the most economical and better bang for the buck. Next to that a rear.

the rear locker won’t be as big of an issue with compared to all the steering components up front while turning.

Where do you guys recommend 17” TRD Pro wheels? Tacomatown are $350/wheel, any other places to check? Impossible to find used. (Ontario)

I would like to see locally here situation where front locker was warranted and things didn't go boom on Tacoma

Winch is your best locker, followed by rear locker and if you feeling rich put the front in, but bigger tires would win any day, start cutting for 35s:sawzall::welder: that whale DCLB needs 35s...

Needs a bit of a lift/ suspension help first and foremost. It's going to be a good few more years untill I start shopping and chopping. And in that case why not 37's? Or 40s?

It's a very common myth coming from mall crawlers, you don't need suspension to fit 35" tire, all you need is :sawzall:
Join the race to 37s/40s. Current participants me, @tacoma16 with his half assed SAS and @Windigo :bikewheelie2:

With that logic, sawzall hammer and welder. Make 40s fit at near stock ride height, get the clearance from the tire size and still have the same same travel/articulation (ignoring LT kits) but maintain good suspension geo and lovely amounts of down travel.

Wonder why the skinniest 40s are...

Princess auto ones for me. Just one on there for the winch. It’s under tension. Sure someone could feespool the winch to get the shackle. It’s so cheap I’m not worried.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you could probably get a cheap 16" steelie with Cooper ST MAXX or Falcon Wildpeak 33" rubber on them for about the same price those pro wheels.

Not yet not yet. But I assure the peer pressure is slowly errroding my sensibility. If you got the same milage as me on James bay with 35s why can't 38 or 40s be not far off. Toureres, wet dream.

Looks like nitro ridge grapplers come in 38x11.5.

You’ll definitely want selectable lockers in that case. Turning in general on 35’s is hard. Can’t imagine while locked lol

You can relocate the battery and the fusebox with some fabrication, but when the tire starts hitting the headlight housing at full tuck :notsure:
40x13.5" seems to be the narrowest size available across all the mfrs (Mickey, Milestar, Interco, Cooper, Nitto...) https://www.4wheelparts.ca/p/mickey...a-boss-58703-90000033655/_/R-BFLW-90000033655

I think we are well past budget lockers with gears and such for 40s.

I could live with a getto snow plow light relocation. Hahah.

    Just can't compromise with a 11.5 38 I guess.

I'm using the boreal 24. It destroys a silky once you get past a couple inch log. 6-8in diameter is a quick ordeal.
