Those who have upgraded from entry level suspension (OME/Bilstein) to high end(ICON/king)...how big is the difference in ride quality?

I currently have OME nitro charger and I'm a bit unsatisfied. Highway driving is pretty good, gravel roads are fine, but low speed off-road technical driving is garbage. Low speed compression dampening is terrible

Do you want Digressive or Progressive damping rate?

please explain “garbage” and “terrible” for us to understand what you don’t like.

ARB OME Nitros have Progressive damping.

Had 5100’s and swapped them for fox 2.5 from accutune. Best investment I have made.

I actually think my stock setup rode better than my fox 2.5. I would never want my stock setup when I’m in Baja.

I’ve ridden in Tacomas with fox 2.5 off the shelf and it does not ride as good as as mine from accutune

It's a huge difference, it's hard to verbalize.

I went from 5100's with stock springs to 5100's with 887's to Fox 2.5 Adjustable Resi Mid travel with 600# springs to same coilovers with 700# 14" springs each step made a noticable improvement on ride and quality and going to nice adjustable coil overs is well worth it.

    Good bump stops too!

Biggest ride quality changer though was Archive Garage Hammer Hangers.

Roll the front passenger tire off a small ledge/shelf and the whole truck rocks for days.

    Thanks!

I probably should have clarified more in the original post. I understand the concepts, I'm more looking for personal experience from those who have made the switch.

I'm used to dialing in suspension on motorcycles/mountain bikes. The difference between a rockshocks recon fork and a Fox 38 is night and day. Some thing for OEM BMW vs a custom sprung ohlins set up..

Just wondering if it's similarly night and day right quality for truck suspension.
