    Good Morning Everyone.

I'm doing better after my "what the heck" Omicron exposure. Just depleted my energy, fever was 48 hours, but lethargic for a week. Grateful I had had the vax and booster (Moderna) as I suspect it could have been much worse.

I was cleared for surgery and got my new brain pacemaker installed (Deep Brain Stimulation) on Thursday. Quick surgery to remove the old one and install the new Medtronic unit. I keep waiting for next-generation so I can press my chest and get beamed up to the Enterprise. The new protocol was "drink Gatoraid up until two hours before surgery." Surgery at 6:00 PM, so usual breakfast, then no food but plenty of liquids during the day.

My wife is scheduled for surgery on Thursday. Never a dull moment between the two of us.

Still snowing heavily here in SE Connecticut...estimate 10 to 12 inches with 24 mph winds and 40 mph gusts...good day to watch it from inside a nice warm house.

Good to hear, and good to hear from you again!! Was just fixing to post a "where's Tom" note!
Probably 10 years, and they WILL give you that beam up implant. I can't believe (and am still adjusting to) these new ear pieces. It's amazing what makes noises that didn't used to.

TY but it will be the roof for me. I have 3 large trees within 100 feet of the house.

I saw this a few days back. Ohio Turnpike referred it to the State Police. They are looking into it, which in state bureaucratic talk usually means, don't hold your breath waiting for the state to pick up the repair cost and the driver will not be fired.

We had 3 in of snow last night. Already melted off the street. I am doing laundry and cooking chili today.

4° again this morning, light snow and cold all day yesterday, miserable. Push-broom off the driveway, turn-around, sidewalks, then let the sun clean everything up, until next time. Supposed to be in the 50's for a couple days next week, subject to change haha.

I have a large tree about 25 feet from the antenna that’s 30 feet higher and probably 40 feet wide.
There’s one station that I can’t get when the weather is bad and the OATV site says that’s a weak transmitter to begin with. Antenna, Roku and life’s pretty good tv wise.

Well I talked with an audiologist at Sam's club today. Talked about the different kinds of hearing aids and what you get for the different price points. Basicly it comes down to how many channels you want to pay for. It's what separates a 1200 dollar set from a 5000 dollar set. I do think I'll go with the replaceable batteries rather than the rechargeable because of how many hours they run for. Batteries for these things are really pretty cheap. Plus if I'm at work and the battery dies I can just pop a fresh one in. But the first thing I need to do is get a thorough hearing test to see where I'm at and what I need. This will all be out of pocket so I'm not spending 5k I can assure you.

FWIW - my rechargeables have gone all day long, every day so far. I got a second charger, and haven't figured out where to put it yet. I came to hate batteries, and they aren't as cheap as they were...

I replaced my replaceable battery hearing aids with rechargeable about 8 months ago. I wouldn't go back. I put them in about 7am and at 10pm they are still at 50% charged. The main case (Phonak Paradise) has a lithium battery add-on to the case itself which will provide an additional couple of charges if I don't have power nearby. They are much friendlier than replacing batteries at odd times. The aids discharge at different rates so I either wasted a battery by changing them both when one went out or double up the pain. Hmmm. I'm sounding pretty spoiled. I got along with batteries just fine for several years so it's user preference.

We refueled the Enterprise off the coast of NVN and watched flight ops before they burned the coastline with napalm one night.

Those were in the mighty P-3 Orion. Funny story, no one used the sh!tter, doing so meant you owed the crew a case of beer.. additional info…the $600 supposedly was not for the toilet seat, but for the custom fiberglass top part of the enclosure. Also note, this was a very basic toilet…think of a simple container in an outhouse.

SO-----you just pooped in your pants????
I joke about an outhouse they have at a local convenience store, I tell people I'd rather crap in my pants than sit on the seat in there. It's there because some people who used their regular bathroom made a mess, same as a lot of other places.

Today was fun project day. Worked on my ebike getting it set up for commuting. Today was tires day. Took the brand new tires off to instal the heavy duty motorcycle tires. They have a 4 ply rating and much deeper tread blocks that are closer together. They will be way more puncture resistant.
I used one of the sides of the cardboard shipping box as a work surface to protect the bike when I flipped it over.

    Brand new front tire off.......
I'll sell the take off tires.

New tire on, looks pretty cool. The urban assault eped. Lol.
    20220129_192245.jpg
Before I tightened the wheels back on I installed this highly reflective rim tape and ditched the wheel reflectors.
    20220129_194235.jpg
The pic doesn't do the rim reflectors justice, they reflect bright yellow.
    20220129_194438.jpg
So here's the tires on. And the rim reflectors.

My Betty's ebike might show up tomorrow so I'll have that to put together while I'm waiting on the new handlebars for my bike.

Nope…you relied on the Herculean strength of you sphincter! If not, you bought a case of beer…no one ever pooped in their flight suit.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

It snowed most of the day here again yesterday...and still only amounted to a little more than an inch total. No complaints from me!

    Nice ebike, Greg!

Last night we got about a foot of snow with a few higher foot snow drifts. Back door snowed in up to window so had to let Lucie out the side door for a pee.
