Been on a cleaning spree. Found some mags I got when meeting Bo Jackson. He signed one of them. I think this was the GA game when Cam was at Auburn......or maybe the one right before "Pick 6"........I don't remember:rofl:

Cleranced for 35’s. Should be enough once I max out the caster. Plenty of room with 33

I’d suggest taking your coilover out and really cycle everything lock to lock with the 35’s. Add a minimum of half an inch past that for everything to account for bump stops compressing more on hard hits and frame/body flex. Once you get your tires you’ll know. It may take a couple times to get everything to clear after you wheel and see what’s hitting.

I def gonna do that though! I think once I max caster out on lowers I should be fine. Atleast the ark Offroad guy has basically same setup as me and he’s got his dialed pretty well without cutting off fender but I’m skeptical of that but I want know until I get everything on and cycled. That’s the good thing about the spc is the additional caster. Think it maxes out at +4*

11.5 wide it’s about 11.7 though when I measured. I didn’t rub at all. The milestars are about 12.4 I think.

I call BS on not cutting the fenders without really limiting the up travel or never offroading. My fenders have over 1" off them and my tires still hit them and have grabbed and bent them.

I think I’ve got two inches cut out of the fender and even hammered back some at the very top of the wheel well. Lots and lots of hammering at the back. Ended up rotating my cab mounts around. It’s crazy how much bigger than a 33 they are once’s it’s in there. It took me a few tries to get everything super clear. Less offset helps a lot and those SPCs might get you some extra clearance, too.

@slander I seen you been lurking around in here. I seen a thread you had about putting fj80 ebrake cable on a Tacoma, did you get it figured out? I just finished putting FJ80 axles under my Samurai.

Getting ready to start that, I'm pretty sure I have all the parts. I need it done by March for inspection, follow my build thread, I'll post up in there as it progresses.

I was lucky with the ebrake cable, welded in a small bracket and it bolted right up to the Lever. Been thinking about heading up to Land Between the Lakes and Turkey Bay area for a few days around the first week in March. Got a ride at Hawk Pride this coming weekend, gone be cold but I haven't been on a ride since I started building my Samurai last May. May try to make the ride at AOP this year too.

I'll really only need it to work for one day a year. I already broke both my bell cranks on rocks and I could see that cable getting snagged on everything. So I'll put it on and pull it off evrey year for inspections. I have been driving this truck for 10yrs now without a parking brake and haven't missed it really.

Well now that things have settled down this has been my life:
17 Dec - Booked AirBnB rooms in Panama City for 26 Dec, 30th wedding anniversary.
21 Dec - Call from Philippines, wife's mom had heart attack. Lose AirBnB money and jump into insane covid crap to get wife to Philippines.
2 Jan - Call from brother, walked into bedroom and wife was dead. More mayhem to add to list.
5 Jan - Drop wife at airport.
6 Jan - Leave for Panama City. Making last turn on 231 (Dothan traffic circle) to brothers house. Two lanes of backed up traffic on my left and I am in 3rd right lane about 200 feet from turn. Backed up traffic makes an opening for little old lady to cross and she jumps out in front of me. Hit her on passenger side and damage to drivers side was caused by heavy equipment trailer I shoved her into. I was doing about 25.

    Wreck 1.jpg

    Wreck 2.jpg

    Wreck 3.jpg

Fortunately she was not hurt. Expired drivers license, no insurance, and grandson later tells me early dementia and not supposed to be driving. Well, Grandma won't be driving now unless they buy her another car.

Get back home after a week with my brother and Joe Hudson says it won't be till April before they can fix truck (will have to pull bumper and have Russel Welding tweak back into shape and weld crack on seam). Talk to other body shops and they say it is the same with them. All kinds of people having accidents and numbers are way above the norms causing backlog. Covid hysteria is my guess.

Call Joe Hudson back to talk to estimator later and receptionist says he called out with case of covid. Sheesh!!! Its five days later and I feel fine so dodged another bullet. Oh, this after leaving Panama City and second brother, wife, daughter and son-in-law also had contracted minor case of covid.

Wife had to remove intubation tubes on her Mom in Philippines (hospital would not do it due to religious aspects). She is clinging to life but non-responsive. Probably just a matter of time. She is 96 and was 16 when Japanese invaded Philippines during WWII. They lived near Manilla and home town was at end of Bataan Death March. Family dirtied her up and hid her in jungle from Japanese during war. Father in law was a guerrilla (the real deal). His sister was shot through hand finishing off invaders. Wife's mom is last of our parents and we miss them all.

Well, I am not here for sob story about me but want you all to appreciate what you have and make the best of life no matter what it hands out to you. Watch out as drivers are getting increasingly stupid.
