I recently purchased a beautiful red 2017 Tacoma. Didn't think to check the wiper ( not that it would have mattered ) switch. Figured intermittent was standard equipment. I found this switch on eBay. Think it will work?

The above swap out looks to be on my skill level. Thanks.

Your sig says your truck is a TRD, not an SR. If that's the case, then you already have intermittent wipers.

You're right! I need to change that. It is a SR. Paperwork I got from the dealer said TRD. I found the original window decal in the glove box that says SR. You can tell I'm just learning about Toyota pickups.

I checked my 2021 SR yesterday and was shocked to see the Intermittent wipers are actually on there already.

I believe the SX package is cosmetic only though.
It's basically a blackout package: black rims, blacked out emblems and fenders...

Hmm. See if your dealer invoice has everything itemized.

It's also possible that Toyota finally decided to stop being yuppies.

Did the swap last night. Went smoothly. Took me a minute to find the tabs that let you remove the white wire plugs. They are thin plastic flaps next to the wires behind the cube. Push them toward the wires.

$130 for new switch off Ebay. 20 minutes. Philips head and flat blade screwdriver.

    Thanks for the instructions moe204

Got mine installed today, less than 15 minutes.

Just something I wanted to point out because of my OCD. The wiper switch we're all changing out is technically intermittent, the upgraded switch is variable intermittent. Just wanted to point that distinction out because if you search for an intermittent switch you need to make sure it's the variable version.

    Edited for spelling.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!??? Easy swap out. Actually purchased a 2014-2019 corolla headlight and wiper switch assy for under $60. You search for tacoma specific and sellers usually want 40-50 more for just the variable intermittent switch. Let it RaiN!!

Also, the 06340 part is noticeably heavier than the 04160 part that you remove. Once I got the screws back in, the gaps in the plastic were no longer seen as they are in the one pic.

Fantastic contribution. Next you should figure out how to put rain sensing wipers in these bad boys so you can teach us that useful hack

Why is that even necessary? If it's raining, turn your wipers on. It's not rocket surgery

people used to say stuff like this for keyless entry when they never used it. Once you have it, it's nice. Definitely not brain science though

Yeah but that's kind of like auto high beams. Use them when you're out in the woods by yourself, don't use them when there's traffic. Really simple basic stuff that we don't need to automate.

It's either this or argue with the computer about tax forms. I literally copy and pasted the number into the same box and it tells me it's wrong. Double check for spaces and all of that and it's still wrong. Import the file directly from the IRS and it's still wrong.

Much more fun to get on TW and argue over silly topics.
