Just swing by to say hi to my whatever friends.
I made the 756 some mile journey to Monroe Michigan in little less than 12 hours.
Hit store for supplies and time for bed now.
    Enjoy the weekend.

Thanks for the Snow pics everyone. Spygoat, where are you located, man that's a lot of snow. I watched the weather channel and wondered if anyone would get the 24+ inches they predicted in some places up the east coast. Down here in N.C. we've had our 3rd snow weekend in a row. 1st one was just a lite dusting. 2nd was about 4-6 inches was nice. 3rd was just another dusting.
Funny thing here is people go nuts whenever the weather advisors say the work "Snow". No milk, bread or for that matter anything else left on the shelves. I've been here almost 30 years and it still amazes me how nuts these people get. Its like mass hysteria, a blizzard 4 inches of snow, buy up all the milk and bread so no one else can have any.
I'm still hoping for a good 6-8 inches or better before spring. I like snow, it gives me a good excuse to sit in the house and look outside. Also makes for great napping conditions.
Ya'll be safe out there. speaking of naps it's time for one right now.

    Story Time With Gritto

I lived in Greenville, SC for almost 10 years and it was just like that.

In fact, it was a running joke for the local TV weatherman.
Mind you, most years there might be a light dusting once or twice.
Didn't matter...when people heard snow in the forecast they got...overexcited.

Then there was that one year with an honest to goodness snowfall.
If memory serves, it was between 1 1/2 to 2 feet.
I-85 had thousands of vehicles stranded, like that recent fuckup in Virginia on I-95.
SC had no snow removal equipment at all.

They called out the National Guard.
The local TV station had a reporterette in a helicopter landing in the median so she could interview people.
It's not quite as bad as it sounds.
The day after, the temperature got up to nearly 60 degrees.

South shore Suffolk County, Long Island New York.

It was a real bitch because the snow was so powdery and it was so windy, it kept blowing into huge drifts.

Me and my crews are out clearing the yard at our main facility. 6 acres with about 3 acres of space that needs clearing. The other two facilities have snow removal companies that handle them. I'm thinking it's time to get one here as well. I have 20 guys out there, 4 of which are salaried. Figuring on an average hourly rate, today will cost me around three to four thousand, depending who is into overtime. Snow removal would cost me about $2500 and all I would need is 2 of 3 guys and myself to make sure it gets done right.
