Definitely more practical but I’ve enjoyed the whites as supplemental light for my headlights

yup, they sent me the wrong lens, originally. Shipped driving lights when I ordered sae fogs. The driving lights have a very defined spot pattern. Too small of a spot for any of my uses.

What pattern did you get for the ssc2s? I have Baja S2 combo pattern for ditch lights on the 4Runner. Been wondering how the ssc2 might compare.

Combo pattern ssc2 pros. I’m planning to run them off the back of the truck, but I’m also going to look at a full sized to daily next week so who knows if I’ll end up putting them on it or not.

I have the max and you can forget them on the road if there’s any traffic. However I did roll up behind a car one night and accidentally had them on. The dad was a great sport I looked up and he was doing shadow puppets with them to I’m assuming kids in the back. I wish I’d gotten the pros instead.

What you going to look at it? I'm considering full sizes too so I can tow my 83 easier. I never wheel the taco anymore anyway.

I bought one like a week and a half ago and it showed up yesterday. Got a 2017 f150 super crew long bed. 5.0 FX4 with the tow package. I fucking love it so far

Nice looking truck. I'm looking for something very similar, but in an F-250. Having a hard time deciding whether to keep the Tacoma too or just trade it in.

I sold the runner and bought a cheaper beater taco so that I could have both. Was initially dead set on a diesel but came to grips with the fact that a gas truck is much cheaper, way less complicated, and not worth the added cost and maintenance for the 6-8 times a year I’ll tow 7-8k with it. This one has a 10,800 tow capacity which is more than I’ll ever put behind it.

How often do you guys grease UCA bushings?

I noticed a knocking when hitting bumps and found that bushings had a bit of slop on both UCAs. (Dirt King ball joint style)
    I think it's been about 18 month / 15,000 miles since last greased/torqued.
Added grease and retorqed the bolts. Seems to have fixed knock based on very short test ride.
Is that likely all it needed and maybe i should aim for annually to repeat?

I grease 11 zerks during an oil change every 5000 miles:facepalm:

Whenever you change your oil would be recommended to top off all zerks fittings like driveshafts, steering, suspension.

My oil changes are 10-12k which is roughly 12+ months. I've been getting the other zerks except those UCA bushings. UCAs got overlooked since it's a different grease and takes more time (have to move brake hardline brackets for access to loosen UCA bolt to grease those bushings).

You think 10k mile / 12month interval is good enough for those uca bushings?

I use the same grease on all, never thought about what types :anonymous:

you should be fine. 5,000 mile oil changes were essentially a 11/12 month change for me, but I've been driving more miles with in the last year and a half, so it's more of a 7ish month interval now.

Fishing/camping trips to AR is where most of my miles came from. Was surprised how it added up.

I got a mini grease gun filled with that clear ptfe grease for bushings a few years back. I'm just an overachiever or I found a sale price on it too good to pass, I forget which.

I'm with Mike, I use the same grease for all my stuff. Including my tractor and ATV.

Whether 10K is often enough probably depends on how hard that 10K was. Highway driving is easier on the bushings than the city or offroad driving.

If anyone is in market for a riding mower, I'll be selling my John Deere X500 soon.

Kawasaki engine, 48" mower, hydrostatic transmission with locking diff.
