I just returned from the grocery store cause I'm a new englander....wouldn't recommend due to visibility. Had to keep cleaning my side windows and I only drove to the grocery store five minutes up the road

I was going to run out and get some limes to make Guacamole later. Visibility is marginal but the store is just right down the street.

True, but you can't really put milk and vegetables out there's, they'd get all nasty.

It's still only 3 degrees here.

I've learned the tractor is super cold blooded, and in a deceiving way. It starts quick and runs super smooth right away, but if you try engaging the PTO too soon even at high RPM, it'll immediately die as if the snowblower is frozen solid. It takes 3-4 minutes of idling before I can engage the PTO. The ATV is about the same amount of time before it's warm enough to want to do work, but at least it's obvious that it isn't ready yet based on how it's running for those first few minutes.

Visibility not great, lots of snow on the road. But driving appropriately for the conditions made a trip to the store just fine. As a bonus there was no one there, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Yup, I did the same as @Sloth and @jpereira2, and went out to explore what was happening. Only thing open in my town is one gas station, so back at home now. Like they said, other than visibility, the snow is not too bad on the roads, I wouldn't recommend anyone with 2WD to go out, as the drifts of snow are getting tall, and the left overs from the snowplows are deep as well.

Up north of the notch NH it just started to spit a little. Nothing sticking here yet.

If it wasn't blizzard conditions down here, we would easily have a foot of snow already! I can easily see us getting over 2 feet of snow from this storm.

Pro tip, i have a metal Bilco door and in insulated door at the bottom of the stairs. That space between the Bilco and the insulated door is a great refrigerator in a pinch.

Also, some foreshadowing with the shear pin discussion, broke one of the bolts this morning so, can confirm, cheap, low grade bolts so work as shear pins. I replaced in kind :D

I haven’t even touched my driveway. I’ll deal with it when it ends. Probably not the smartest situation, but it's peak snow right now and with the kids it would be a total PITA to do.

    Well. This sucks.

Put them in a cooler and then put them outside? :D

Went outside with the dog for a few minutes. I'll deal with the clean up later. Don't care if it's a bad idea. It's a three car driveway and it'll be 50 later this week. Whatever.

All you'll need to clean up is a golf club.

I keep trying to convince my wife she needs a 4runner since she has all but vetoed a second trok.

Then we could both just boot it over the plow scraps and never have to shovel again.

I can attest to this - we were hosting a party following my daughter's wedding in February 2015 and needed extra some refrigerator space and this worked just great.

First round of snowblowing at like 1pm was 14 or so inches. It’s tough to tell with the drifts prob another 8-10 out there now

Did mine a second time, 12 and 9-10 inches respectively. Went right through it

Snow clearing is future Rob's problem. Feels like negative 12 and the plows gonna come back anyway. So. Might as well have the daylight to deal with it, and less wind tomorrow.

Up into near 50 later this week down here so most likely just gonna do a rough pass and not give too much of a shit.

Broke a shear pin in the windrow at the end of the driveway again; it’s like these things are made out of fkn tin foil. Luckily I bought a bunch before the storm… I can’t complain as I got this snowblower as a free hand me down but it’s constantly in state of repair. Also, this wind can’t seem to make up its mind….

Oh how nice it is to get dressed, go outside, see that we only got about 7 total inches, fire up the snow blower, get the entire driveway done, look up at the mailbox to shovel that out and see that the plow hit it and ripped the entire thing off.....sigh:annoyed::facepalm::frusty:
