Well, in my classic fork-around-and-find-out style, I forked around. If you undo the 3mm hex that holds the trigger lock, you release a bunch of mini krakens into the trigger area. Then you find a long t-15 driver bit to undo the many screws holding the back end together. And then you shake the offending parts out and put most of it back together. It seems to work without the rattly extras, but I didn’t have time to play around a lot. On the plus side, no more accidental activations.

 

Or just pull the battery when you're transporting it.

 

My dad has been building fences for 25+ years and me 10+. Last few years I’ve taken over and done some of my own. Every power tool i need to build a fence is a DeWalt and always has been. Love their tools and have almost all of them

 

What kind of nail guns do you use? I'd guess a framing nailer for the rails to the posts, but what about the pickets to the rails? Roofing nailer?

 

I know this is the dewalt thread and that’s the only tools I have besides Mac, but the rigid framing nailer if your going air over battery can’t be beat. My dads built his garage and now his house with his and mine. Both have fallen off the roof several times (some places 30-40ft high) and never skipped a beat.

same goes for our dewalt impacts. Shits always falling out of our tool belts lol

 

I use the 15 degree coil roofing nailer. Never had any problems with it

Was looking for a couple 5ah batteries, ended up getting another charger, the bag, and a 3/8" brushless impact for about $50 more than just a couple batteries would have been.

 

This is probably the best battery operated worklight that I have, its referred to as "The Banana" by everyone at my work..

Same here, well been building fences for 30+ years. The 20VMax is the line for the job in my opinion. Not as expensive yet just as hardy as Milwaukee, plus plenty of batteries without going broke.

 

Some additions to my yellow collection in the last few months:

• 20v orbital sander + 2ah battery
• Flexvolt axial blower
• Flexvolt OPE powerhead with weed wacker, pole saw, edger and hedge trimmer attachments + another flexvolt battery

I really like having the little 2ah battery now for quick tasks and got a workbench area organized.

 

THAT 20VMax sander is VERY nice

 

Does anyone have any experience with the DWM120 band saw? I'm thinking about getting one to mount to a SWAG V3.0 table.

While I am in Camp Yellow, I have heard a lot of good about a red saw in this application.

 

Anyone have the 12 Volt Brushless 3/8 Stubby Impact? If you do what do you think about it?

 

Had a few of the 12v brushless tools. Totally gave up on the platform. Would only consider it if you go for the 5ah battery’s.

12v is not enough power for 3/8 impact. 1/4 sure but def not anything bigger

 

Things evolve. That was probably true at one point, but the new tools are getting more powerful even at lower voltages. The 12v 3/8” impact has 250ft-lb of torque. Not many bolts a you’d use a 3/8” drive socket on are going to be tighter than that anyway.

 

I have one and it’s a beast, works great.

I have the 1/2” drive 12v and damn do I love it. It’s such a nice size and does what I need for 90% of truck work.
