Finally cracked the OEM plastic oil filter cap.. Was lucky enough to find a replacement outside of town. Screwed it in, started up and oil just poured out the bottom. Dorman cap does not work with our trucks unlike it says so. Ordered one from Fokes that will hopefully not leak.. :frusty:

@MetrickMetal : One of the first things I did was pull the jump seats. I bit the bullet and bought the back panel for $400 (found a price on the internet and my local dealer matched it).

well after 60 miles of driving I would have to say it is noticeable, right at 3000 RPMs you get a nice growl. It didn’t seem as shifty either.

It started getting dark on my drive home. It's 90 miles from where the shop was, on a 2 lane highway, it was 0 degrees and everything was frozen. Lights came on and literally every car that passed flashed me. I knew right away they forgot to adjust the headlights. No cell service the whole way home. When I got home I get a voicemail from the service manager and he was like "hey man, you might get flashed a lot. We forgot to adjust your headlights".

I felt terrible but I couldn't remember which way was the correct adjustment. I stopped somewhere that barely had a bar for signal but nothing was loading so I just said screw it, guess I'm that asshole on the road tonight... I only ended up going down 4 clicks (or 4 notches) for the adjustment, so not too bad. On my previous lifted FORD it was like 15 quarter turns and there was no indicator except for the plastic nut. Anyways... good looking truck.

Did you get a CMC? I'm at 3" with 285/70R17 and no rub, but at full load it's within mm's. Your 285/75 tires are gonna rub for sure without a CMC, especially at -38 offset. There's just no way. You are still at 33's too ;) It's like 33.78. My 285/70 Wildpeaks are e rated and they are 32.99 vs. other load wildpeaks that are 32.7... just not good enough to be 33's lol.

4 days post surgery mod. Teton shift handle ma-bob thing.
This was waiting for me when i got home. Retail therapy.
It fit perfect and straight on if i wanted it to face the other way, logo to the front. But i dig it.

I like how well the shift boot just popped right onto the new knob. I yell ya, this cmc, 3d printing magic is some cool shit.

Replaced speakers in the front door with Kicker 6x9’s. Will install the tweeters in the dash and rear doors next weekend. (Magnet) size matters.122498AC-4808-4802-95AF-F89E556970D3.jpg2DFB4E81-0DB6-47CB-BC7D-E40B802617CC.jpg

Crutchfield told me that Kicker speakers weren't a good match for Tacoma's because the OEM headunits didn't have enough ass to drive them. The steered me to Pioneer speakers.

If it doesn't have enough to drive the kickers, it doesn't have enough to drive the pioneers. But it does, for both. Both are an upgrade. You can always add an in-line amp later.

You’re correct. It runs the kickers….runs them well.
