1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Decided I want a Cornhole game setup for our backyard. But holy fuck they're expensive...2 boards with 6" hole cutouts and most I'm seeing are anywhere from $150 - $500. Wtf.

So I bought a couple pieces of plywood and gonna DIY. Just need to find a 6" hole saw that doesn't cost $50+.

This one on Amazon is apparently for Cornhole hole cutting lol




I'm sure it's made of shitty chinesium but it only needs to fulfill one purpose.

 

No jigsaw?

 

Nope don't have a jigsaw... Guess this could be a good excuse to buy one though

 

When I was transitioning from an apt to another van, I blew a tire on my 68 econoline about 8 side street blocks from my apt so I just drove ~10mph to get back and deal with it at home. Half way there someone came out of their drive way and flagged me down attempting to sell me a replacement rim with tire.

Completely desperate and being the perfect customer for that situation, I STILL haggled with him over the 50 bucks







But that's mostly cause he was an obvious drug abuser and I didn't trust him that his 5 lug would actually fit my Ford when I only saw GM in his scrap yard collection. I ended up only paying 10 dollars and a quarter pack of smokes for a rim that didn't fit and a tire from early 90s.





I still ran the tire changed it with spoons and balanced it with airsoft pellets

 

The perfect excuse.. I'd go buy one from a pawn shop, they'll only be about 50 bucks I bet

 

Well since you brought it up... he said my Tacoma spare was going on his Chevy. I hope he test-fits it before he needs it on the side of the road.

 

A router with a circle-cutting jig (aka a scrap strip of material or maybe even a piece of string) will give you a neater result than a jigsaw.

Huh. During my real shitboxiest of shitbox days I only ever messed with GM or Ford so all I know is 5 by 5, and 5 by 5undahalf I never paid attention to any foreign lug patterns even though I dabbled in Datsun but I never kept em running long enough to need tires.


That same point of my life I was only ever buying used tires... I couldn't tell you what sizes I bought cause I would go through their stacks and buy by the circumference only

Thats how I built a set. Its a tool you'll use a lot more often then a big hole saw.

 

Factory wheel? The center bore is too small for chevy... Or maybe i have that backwards

 

I know that Chevy used 6 by 5undahalf (same as Tacoma) but I don't know how the backspace/offsets compare.

 

Chevy center bore is tiny in comparison.

 

Yep, factory 15" spare. That's the buyer's problem I guess. Like I said... hope he gave it a test-fit.
