I've had mine for 12 years, 2005 pre runner dbl cab trd sport 110k miles. Very low because of all the overseas travels. Not a single mechanical issue *fingers crossed* so far.

2011 TRD offroad, 126,000 in 6 yrs. Couple issues while under warranty, HVAC blower, headlights leaking, small stuff. Since warranty expired replaced CV joints, but that's my deal because I have a lift. Other than that no real mechanical issues. TSB spring replacement a few weeks ago, but that was for the price of "on the house," due to recall. Regular maintenance, oil changes, just replaced the brake pads for the first time recently. Easy peasy, runs like a champ. Hell, the timing chain doesn't need replacement till 250,000

My ‘08 Tacoma base truck recently turned over 416,000 miles and it’s all original, including the drivetrain. It rides runs and drives like a new truck. It has always been serviced when it was due.

this all depends on how you drive it, where you drive it, and how you maintain it.

long highway drives are good for cars. traffic or idle hours, not so much.
drive it aggressively, it wont last long. or you will go thru parts. i off road my truck 4 - 6 times a month so i do except the bushings and tie rods to go out sooner then someone who just drives their truck to work and back.
follow the maintance book that comes with your Tacoma and it will help with the life of the truck. how many people here regularly grease their driveshafts? do a bolt check? change diff fluid every 30k?

I have an 06 with the 4.0 Automatic 2wd that has 165,000 miles on it. I religiously change the oil every 5,000 miles. I had a travel trailer with a dry weight of 2,800lbs. that I hooked up to the Tacoma...3 trips only and then sold it. I could tell I was just beating up my Tacoma. I did drag around a double jet ski trailer for probably 10 years.
Take care of your Tacoma and it will take care of you!

Peeling paint on a white Tacoma? Please tell us how this issue was resolved for your Tacoma so we can know how to do the same.

Resealed the valve covers at 150k. The engine looked new inside.
