Once you call for a tow they come to tow. They don't come to give tips or repairs.

Same as when they show up for a flat. They tow you to a shop. They don't change your tire.

pretty sure he does it off camera. think he mentioned it in a vid a year or two ago. same why you dont see him locking his hubs in every video.

sometimes people make a comment and he shows it in the next vid or two, but he focuses mostly on the recovery.

if youre asking about airing down customer tires, i think he said thats a liability thing.

Yeah, plus time is money, so time spent airing down and more importantly back up is costing him time at other jobs.

Is it just me or was anybody else frustrated with the fishing app promotion that was in one of the latest videos. If that keeps happening I am done.

These types of channel created ads are the sponsors way of getting around the adblockers everyone keeps installing because ads are annoying. just use the arrow keys on computers or double tap to the right of the video on mobile to skip ahead 10+ seconds. most of the ads youtubers do now are one min+ so 6 taps to the right skips you through real fast. I agree its really annoying but its easy cash for them and easy enough to skip through as a watcher.

he addressed it in one video. He said he doesn’t air down customers because he doesn’t carry a way to air them back up when they get to the road and don’t wanna deal with the liability of under inflated tires on the road.

I feel like his life would be a lot easier if he just installed compressors in his rigs.

also from what I’ve gleaned they pretty much just keep the recovery rigs at 10-12

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Yeah....that was a bit disappointing. It went on way too long, too. Something tells me we'll be seeing more of this. The money is probably too good. I would hope that Matt would just be happy with Youtube revenues and not get too big for his britches but I have noticed, as I'm sure most others, there has been a significantly large uptick in "quality of life" there. Starting with the shop renovation, that wall, the gate. That's not chump change but I also think there are some high dollar brand new trucks in the background, et. al..

Maybe I'm reading too much into it. That, and it's certainly natural to spend when things get good. I just hope this doesn't get commercialized much more because 80% of the fun of watching is the down to earth, just day to day fuckery that goes on. I'll quit watching if I have to endure some bullshit ad DURING the program. IT's bad enough we have to endure the bullshit leading up to, and sometimes during, coming from Youtube's revenuers.

I guarantee you we’ll be seeing more of this as they gain popularity. This practice is very common on popular channels. Hell, half of Rich Rebuilds’ videos are eBay motors ads now.

Unfortunately this is the click based society we live in these days. Kids used to aspire to get rich and famous by actually doing something like getting good at guitar and becoming a rock star or taking drama classes and becoming an actor. Then they'd get criticized for selling out once they made it. Now the goal is to get enough instaface likes that you can sell out and make moneys.

Sucks but in the end I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same. “Hey want free money for hocking our product in your videos you’re already making money on?”

the flip side is with more revenue they can do more cool projects like the morrvair, banana rebuild, and rudicon. I’m still curious what they’re gonna do with those 5 ton axles they got awhile back. They’ve also mentioned building Lizzy a rig so I think we’ll be seeing more fab from them in the future.

End old man rant (despite not being an old man)

Yep definitely needs to promote random apps on his videos. It’s one thing to promote his ropes and other stuff actually related but a freaking fishing app. Come on now.

They make it entertaining which is fine (similar to the alarm system ad a while back). We watch his channel for entertainment, so...

Lots of "Guesstimates" in that video and he mentions the Banana was bought for $300 . Never bothers to mention it's been modified. That's sloppy accounting. I'm skeptical he knows what he is talking about.

i don’t put a lot of faith in those “how much do they make?” Videos. Saw another one a few months ago that said Matt made $500k on YouTube. Not chump change but that’s a $750k discrepancy between it and the latest vid posted.

I'm also a little curious why they never use something like MaxxTraxx during recoveries.

Maybe they just don't ever apply to the situation? But my guess is people might buy them and not need recovery nearly as often.

yea chances are if they had maxx traxx they could get themselves out. there were a few vids where the person being recovered had them, but they were deep in a pickle and needed another vehicle to yank them out
