I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 just stop running a couple weeks ago and still didn’t figure it out. I just manual swapped it but I don’t think that would have anything to do with it changed the efi fuse and all other fuses are good. I spray ether in intake still nothing pulled gas line off no gas and can hold spark plug no spark. Don’t have a clue what it is.

Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to On?

I’m not asking if you have codes.
Just if the light comes in when you first turn the key to ON. It should come ON.

Also, I believe the ECU looks for a crank signal before turning the fuel pump on.

Why did you change the EFI fuse? Was it blown?

I'm almost 100% certain they do. (TCU incorporated?) Auto ECU may be somewhat backwards compatible...seems it was, but that's a big red flag for a car that just stops running...

    I'm a bit confused?

Did you have it running after the manual swap, or has it not run since the manual swap?

Did you ever pull the codes to see why the light was on?

    OME and worth every penny.
You could have an unrelated problem such as the fuel pump just going out.

You would have to be positive there's no spark. Are you going by sight on a plug or a light tester?

there are a few high amperage metal fuses in the fuse/relay panel under the hood. There are also other large amperage fuses AM1, AM2 come to mind. Toyota has changed the power supply wiring over the years so you are just going to have to check them all. Off of the alternator there is a large wire that goes into the fuse/relay box. This can be up to a 120 amp bolt in metal fuse, depending on the year and model, pre runner, 4X4, ABS, etc, this branches off to other large fuses. In addition, the ground for your igniter is another thing that should be checked. The grounds for the PCM are located near the throttle body on 4 cyl Tacomas.

There should be a Black/Red wire going to both the Ignition Coils and Injectors.
This is powered by the 30A AM2 fuse. Check for power at the coils and injectors.
If no power, check the fuse.

I personally don’t think you have a power problem.
I’m almost certain the ECM needs to see a crank/cam signal for the fuel pump AND the ignition/coils to work.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
This should be interesting.in 2000 The manual and Automatic ECU`s are different

Yes the ECU needs to see the signal from the Crank Senor to energize the Circuit opening Relay during cranking

If it does not no fuel.

The fact this runs at all is very interesting and ran for 2 months

Pull your codes figure it out.

Must be nice to live in a state with No Emission test.
