Need advice after accident

Hit a deer going 40. No airbags as I was sliding into it hard in the breaks. My main concern is how cheap this estimate is. Does it seem low? There is fear of damage to the frame near the radiator support.

 

Is that from the Dealer? If not, I would get an estimate and compare.

 

It's from my insurance. Seems fairly low considering everything that needs to be replaced, including measuring the frame which isn't listed with a cost

 

Don’t go with one estimate unless it’s a known/trusted shop by you or way of referral. The one time I had to deal with insurance has Opened my eyes to a new “game” that this industry seems to play. I’m sure a good majority requests approval of additional work before everything is all said a done.

 

That’s one of those online estimates? Definitely don’t believe that- they want it as low as possible. Go to a shop and not based on the fact they are on a “preferred list”. Those shops from my understanding give insurance co discounted rates to be on the list and my thoughts are they are more worried about quick turnover rather than quality being it’s likely discounted.

 

My issue is I don't have alot of time. I have until the 23nd with my rental before I'm paying out of pocket. With everything so hard to get. Parts are either on back order or oos. I'm in a shitty situation to say the least.

 

I get it but You will have to make the time or get stuck with what you get for convenience… your choice

Doesn’t have to be Toyota collision either- doesn’t automatically mean best work. Best bet is to ask around family/friends and/or google shops and research reviews. Then talk with them to feel them out. I don’t know about you (and there are smooth talkers) but if I don’t feel the “vibe” then I walk.

 

Go to a body shop and get an estimate - actually get multiple ones. I am also 90 miles away from, well, anything except a small town with one grocery store and some gas stations. It's the price we pay to be away from all the bullshit.
