A trunk in front? How about one of these on each wheel...

That would be killer! Independent drive wheels in the front would make for a very interesting off-roader. They don't mention what voltage they are achieving these numbers with, I would guess in the 300Vdc range.

DC isn’t to bad, 800AC is more scary I’ve wired a few commercial buildings.

800V DC / AC is nothing to joke about. Where did you use 800VAC? 575Vac is the highest I have dealt with before the jump to medium voltage where a whole different safety level is taken.

    Yes.

The one TFL truck (or maybe TFL EV) was testing was a production unit that a Rivian employee actually owned (or so the story goes).

The truck that Rivian had originally intended for the TFL guys to test was damaged coming off the hauler IIRC (I'm not sure if that one was production or pre-production).

I worked for Siemens for 22 years in their light rail electrification division. Typical voltage was 750 VDC but some agencies wanted 1,500 VDC! One day we were working in a substation in Seattle and one of the agency maintenance guys starts to crawl into a cubicle after pulling out the circuit breaker, one of my guys asks what he thought he was doing and his response was that he was going to clean the bus (big copper bars) in the back, my guy says “well give me time to get back because that bus is hot and when you touch it you’re going to be fried” .Never forget the look on his face! Really scary power was working on Amtrak NE corridor when we electrified it with 25K VAC.

Got it they seem to be out there...

I keep hearing about them, didn't know when or if they were actually going to be delivered.

I worked in high power radio transmitters for a good chunk of my career and can definitely relate.

Tubes! Big massive water cooled beasties in one particular location. I think plate voltage was 24KVDC. The power supply was a room the size a small house. You can smell ozone, I swear!

Let's just say 350amps RF at the tuning unit should garner some respect... and this was a baby compared to the VLF monstrosities that the USN uses.

Well, it's not the voltage that kills you it's the current. Look up Van de Graaff generators; Mr. Van de Graaff built one that generates 7 million volts in 1933!

    None yet
I've seen a number of them.
    Helps that I'm near HQ.
Last year I saw one with a bunch of stickers in the rear window. Might have been when employees were beta testing production models.
They produced something like 800 in 2021.
