What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Hit 220k changed the oil. New end links and sway bar bushings really tightened up some slop and an annoying clunk.

 

Rolling on 8’s today on my 05

 

We love showing people how far how are Tacoma has gone. Seeing an 05’ with less than 90k is refreshing sir.

Any proposed maintenance for my next oil change at 91k? On my 05’ it’s a manual tranny

 

Spark plugs are easy.
Might as well hit all the fluids.
I use a cheap soap pump from the 99c hand soap at Walmart. Wash the pump out with some water. Then it fits perfectly in the power steering reservoir. Pump out some old into a beer or soda can and add some new. It’s not a total flush but it’s effortless and after a few oil changes it’s almost all new fluid.

Gives me a place to sleep that falls into the measurements of the truck (nothing way up top), and easier for me and dogs to get-into, vs a RTT, and doesn't look so BROverlander as having all my gear exposed. It will look like this when I install the tent next weekend.

 

Interesting. I like that more than a RTT also.

 

My sleep set up will likely weigh more than a RTT but it's also tucked away when not needed, which is what i prefer. As-is, it feels like people watching a group of Tacomas drive through, they stop looking when my truck passes, and then they start looking again with the bumpers and RTTs and LED bars-equipped trucks come through after me. I'm okay with not sticking-out.

And i can raise the canopy if I have to haul something short-distance (bigger fridge/sofa, etc).

I’ve been looking at a front skid since my stock one doesn’t fit with my new bumper, how was install/ quality on the rci?

 

Plus, mall parking lot stealth camping.

 

Highest quality! I think its 6 bolts total. I have bashed mine up and its hardly taken a scratch.
