A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch! Fog supposed to go away, and give us a nice day for errands and such. Supposed to have some ice and winter weather Wednesday night into Thursday - bet the stores will be getting cleaned out today when I go. Long as I can get some stuff for chili, I'll be set.

Nice hand gun assortment guys. I don't know much except safety and basic care. I got the wife a little 380 for Christmas in 20 - it's never been to the range yet! And she knows the lady that owns it. Ammo is real tough to find here though. Maybe once she doesn't have to wear a mask AND ear protection, we'll get out there.

I would assume the headlight is LED. I would be interested in the beam pattern once you get the bike ready to run.

Yesterday went as I hoped it would. I have a consultation for Cataract surgery on Feb 17th. I am pretty sure Lasic vision correction will come up in the conversation. I have worn glasses since the third grade and to be honest the glasses have saved my eyes more times than I can remember. I doubt if I could let go of the glasses. Until the 17th I have a 3-step procedure to do twice a day and a bedtime anti-bacterial procedure to do every night. The procedures will help the doctor measure the Cataract and clear any bacteria in the eyes. Right now, the best my eyes can see is 20-30. I have a hard time reading road signs until I am right up on them and movie credits on the TV screen are hard to read. I do decent with computer monitors and all other aspects of driving. I seldom drive at night now. Getting old is not for the weak.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning all:
All this talk about handguns, something I never really got into, I do have a Dan Wesson .357 Mag. and an old .32 S&W, both wheel guns, but that's the extent of my inventory and I rarely shoot a pistol. I think the .32 only shoots a .32 short, not sure and I have never shot it and would absolutely make sure that I have the right ammo for it if I ever decided to.

Good group there Mark, looks like it may need a tad bit of sight adjustment to put it in more in the X.

Congrats to the GF on becoming a US citizen Greg, and good move on those handlebars, i know the feeling and was thinking about doing the same to the mountain bikes.

Didn't know that Ken, thought the .22 Mag. had the same case diameter as the standard .22's, just longer. I almost bought one of them years ago to finish off deer, then found out that that would be illegal since I would have actually killed the deer with a rimfire ????, hey, I don't make the rules!
Just saw travlrs post, also didn't realize they uses a .001 larger bullet either.
If you saw my post about my buddy accidentally shooting .227 bullets out of his AR-15 ,which is .224 bore, without any problems, I wouldn't worry about a .001 difference that the manufacturer seems to never have had a problem with for the many years that they were made.

:( Got all my tax forms, need to get them to the preparer now, and off to pay the car and home insurance. :spending:

Please PLEASE -watch out for idiot drivers that ARE NOT watching out for you. Years back, when I rode a motorcycle. I could not believe how many people who you would swear had eye contact with you, and then would pull right out in front of you. Also be careful of parking cars who open doors in your path. In all of these situations you can be in the "right" -and it turns out "dead right". Takes a different mindset when driving two-wheelers of any kind. You have to drive thinking ALL these 4-wheelers will not see you -because one half probably do not.

    MOVIE TIP!!
Watched last night -The Electrical life of Louis Wain. Set in late 1800's -early 1900's. Entertaining for us, but probably not if you a cat hater. This is on Prime Video.
True Story of this guys life - and fairly accurate story according to wiki. I would give it 4 0f 5 stars.

Anybody here qualified to give electrical advice?

I hired someone to put new service on the house and run a line to the new building. They priced an overhead line. I wanted the line to the pole barn to be underground and we agreed on an extra grand. Supposed to be done before Christmas but that didn't happen. In talking to them about the time frame they let slip that I was responsible for digging the trench. Not sure how this works but it sounds unreasonabe to charge an extra $1000 for laying wire in a hole instead of attaching it high on buildings. I thought the money was for digging the hole.

So now I'm looking for advice about what wire to buy for direct bury. If I'm going to have to dig the hole I might as well lay the wire too and save the K. I'm looking to put in 100 amp service and run a 240 volt compressor.

"Officially" a pole barn... but yes, a garage/shop. And I sold a commercial property so have the compressor already. Besides, I may want to weld something...

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
The direct burial cable should be no issue to source but are they quoting for conduit?

Seem really damned unreasonable if they're NOT digging the hole and that's on you.

Tom, get the correction lenses for your cataract surgery. It’ll be the best investment of your life. I used to wear coke bottle trifocals, now only drugstore reading glasses. I can read street signs a block away, and have good night vision as well.

Ok I wanted the same thing 100 amp service.
Elect dude could have raped me and but said I’d never use a 100 amp service.
I have like 12 lights. 12 outlets 2 garage door openers ,110 compressor,
    Welder. Never an issue.
You may need that service with the 240.
    Pole barn.
    Ye haaaa.
    I word of advice.
Any outlet, make it a 4 gang.
No matter where it is.. ANY OUTLET.

If that’s the case and he digs it. He can lay it in conduit if code requires it. Run it through the building to the box an leave 4 or 5 feet of extra. All they have to do is hook up.
    100 bucks for that…
