Ed, I hadn't thought about that! I was fully thinking just have them do their thing then I'll come by when it's ready.

They were already supposed to contact me when it arrives. So I will head over to take lots of before pics, then it gets tinted windows and the lift at the dealership. Soon after, taking it to Discount to switch out the wheels and tires! This is gonna be epic!

I like mine. Good off road for me huntin and fishin. I like the on road ride better as well. I have not noticed any change in traction or center of gravity issues on the snow here in northern Az so far. Installed total at the dealer was right at 2200.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
My brain cannot help but ask...why is this not standard on the 'off-road' model?

If I remember correctly from your previous posts, this is on a brand new truck that hasn't been delivered yet, right? If so, you should get it put into the original purchase and not as a post-delivery thing. I believe if you do that it will be covered under the truck's warranty for the full length of time (2 years I believe), and I assume even longer if you get one of the official Toyota extended warranties (up to 10 years I think they go). If you get it installed after you buy the truck, then it will just have the standard Toyota parts warranty, which is only 1 year with no option for extending. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but look into it before it is too late if that matters to you!

You are correct. However, here’s the rub. I bought the parts from a different dealership out of state (literally $300 cheaper) and therefore THAT dealership is responsible for the warranty for the parts. Which is only a year. But I’m just happy that the lift will be completed before I drive it off.

And as I am about to hit send, I just got a text from the sales guy. Delivery is Feb 4!

Had a question for some of you guys that did this lift. Are you getting any needle bearing vibrations or did they replace it when they lifted it? Just wondering because I just did a 2in spacer kit (temporary) and am getting the needle bearing vibration. Eventually I will do this kit this summer. I have a appointment to have my 15k service, so I guess I'll see what they say.

No vibes and no upgrades to my needle bearing. Almost 8000kms on it.

I did. Noticed it right away. I bought the ecgs bushing and the special tool. I took it back to the dealer and told them it was vibrating, gave them the parts and they installed it for free. No problems since.

I'm running BFG KO2s in 265/70R17. I'm very happy with the look and the ride quality!

I ordered the lift kit online from Serra Toyota of Decatur for $1,273 ($1,173 + $100 shipping) and paid $750 for install in DFW. I called 7 different dealerships across the metroplex to get quotes on instillation and got quoted anywhere from $750 to $2,000 in labor. Crazy how much pricing can vary from dealer to dealer. None of the dealerships seemed to have an issue with installing parts that I bought somewhere else.

    Yes to this!!!

I even got different quotes from the SAME dealership on different days! No joke.

I WISH I could have gotten $750 install, but I only had two dealers in my town. So I did my best to leverage the cost.

Brand new truck finally arrives today or tomorrow, and the lift will be put on soon after! Hoping to get my truck Thursday at the earliest and Friday at the latest.

Whee in DFW did you end up going? One service manager in Dallas said the TRD lift is only for Pros which makes no sense.

Family Toyota of Arlington. The communication and customer service was also great. I was impressed.

The highest quote was Toyota of Rockwall, who told me that they are the best Toyota dealership in DFW so I should use them even if I have to pay an extra $1,250 haha

I'm sure this was answered somewhere but can this kit be installed on a 2018 TRD OR?
