That's a stereotype that West Virginia perpetuates to keep the coastal elitist douchebags out! :D

We are cool with that, zero desire to move east of Montana, too much private land and salt.

Is it a stereotype if it's perpetuated by being true

In certain parts it's true, like in the mountains; I'm interested in Martinsburg, which is basically a bedroom community for people who work in the DC metro area but don't want to pay out the ass for a decent 4-bedroom home. My friend's wife, who is a West Virginia native, is gorgeous and has a master's degree! On another note, I don't think that you are a coastal elitist douchebag!

    Almost Heaven, West Virginia...

I'm a Navy brat and my dad was stationed at Moffett Field; We were living like an hour and twenty minutes from where the late Mr. Denver died in that plane crash at the time it happened!

You're definitely doing well for yourself and have a fleet of vehicles that makes me jealous, but there's a difference in being an elitist and being well off; An elitist is someone who thumbs their nose at people like me (and likely people like you). I know plenty of friendly people who are incredibly wealthy, like my friend who lives in West Virginia!

Also, you live in Connecticut? I went through Connecticut twice last September when we drove up to Maine for vacation and then came back home; I haven't actually spend a considerable length of time in Connecticut since August 2015. My Grandma died in January 2015 and lived in Connecticut for about forty years (1959 or 1960 until 1999); My Grandpa, who I am named after, died of Alzheimer's in 1982. He is buried in the cemetery at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich; We buried my Grandma's ashes next to his at the church. We decided to combine the memorial service and our annual family reunion, and rented a large house on the Hudson River in Branford.

I was never tasked with grocery shopping, but I did make a beer request; This was on a Sunday, and my mom and her sisters went in the late afternoon. They hadn't yet gotten the beer when an announcement came over the PA system that due to the state's blue laws, all alcohol sales would cease within minutes; This prompted a mad dash to the beer aisle to get the goods. At one time, it was against the law to sell beer on Sundays in Pennsylvania, but that has been loosened. The state-run liquor stores in Pennsylvania are not open on Sundays, which can be a pain in the ass when you work at a bar and run out of a certain liquor on Sundays.

Does Connecticut have state-run liquor stores? The two biggest things that I really can't stand about Pennsylvania, as both a car enthusiast and a beer connoisseur, are yearly required emissions tests and the stranglehold that the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has on anything alcohol-related!

    @Speedytech7

Here are a couple of reasons I'd move to West Virginia; The smaller brick one doesn't have central air, but at that price I'm willing to deal with window units until I can afford to put it in!

I can understand that, pricing is similar to where I live.

I really like this one; Almost 60 years and needs some TLC, but it's got central A/C and gas heat! The majority of houses I've looked at in the Martinsburg area seem to have heat pumps...

Family is a big part of it too; I've got an aunt, an uncle, and two cousins (one of whom is married with three kids) scattered across Northern California, but most of family is on the East Coast. That is the biggest reason why I'd never move out West. I lived in Whidbey Island from 2000 to 2002 when my dad was stationed there; It was beautiful but way too isolated for my liking!

Yes sir, I'm in CT. Not in Greenwich. Greenwich makes Rhawnhurst look like Camden. I'm rural. 6 miles to the store; 10 to any real shopping.

I don't drink myself, but I believe alcohol can be sold on Sundays. I could be wrong. AFAIK no state run liquor stores. There are package stores, which I think sell both booze & beer. Sorry I'm no font of information here. You may want to google it.

It's not the bureaucrats to blame in Utah, but going camping there I always have to remind myself to bring a cooler extra full of the good stuff, cause they don't sell anything good there and some places are dry altogether.

I like the flooring in first house in photos.

About the central air, if you plan to have it installed, the room upstairs, if you are not using a room upstairs, then you can turn it into a HVAC unit room so installer can run flexible pipes from there to each room so you will have register in each room ceiling. That way, you don't have to take drywall out to run pipes through the walls like some houses have.

If that house have basement, then installer will install pipe through the closet so basement ceiling will have register or install HVAC in basement then run pipes to upstairs.

If it was me, I would rather have 2 registers in each room. one for fresh air and other is for return.

Or you can get wall mount HVAC, here is a site you can learn more:

I have been to Utah once but I can't stand the weather there... but I like Utah for off road such as Moab.

It's either really hot or really snowy, right? Did the frame recall include Tacos from Utah?
