I’d love to get a non-running Super Cub and fix it up to hang on the wall until my kid is big enough haha

Also, OP I’m sorry about derailing the thread a little. I hope other people post what they safely carry in their hitch carriers. I have one in my basement collecting dust that I haven’t touched since I have owned my Tacoma so I can’t help much, but now I’m curious as well.

    Thats really cool.

I had a steel one that I used for my 95 Ninja 250. It was pretty heavy and a slight pain to install in the hitch, granted I was a skinny 19/20 year old at the time.
I never had any qualms about hauling the bike like that but I did strap the carrier to the hitch so it wouldn't sway as much.
Depending on how often and long you'd need to use it Uhaul makes a great motorcycle trailer thats pretty cheap.

I may have mentioned it above, but this comment is the best advice I can second. Anything to stabilize the carrier inside the hitch will go a long way on making your bike feel more secure. One strap on each outside corner running into the actual hitch or the frame.

That is a perverse adaptation of the KLR obligatory milk crate mod.

Yeah. I'm dreaming of a WR450F with the same questions coming at me. No. I don't watch them, but those OG bikes are inflating in value like crazy.

You can't go wrong with a Monkey. I love mine. I'm 6'1" and despite it's small size it's easily comfortable for a few hours at a time.

I agree, way too rich for my blood. For that kind of money I’d gladly pick up a CRF450L and be more than happy. Or if money is no object, an African Twin. Maybe one day.

I feel like truck guys would give us shit for not loading it into the bed. I've been interested in getting one. Seems like it's more convenient than getting a running start up the ramp into the back. Also with a 2.5 inch lift it doesn't help either. Lol

Oh, I have zero need… strictly a want and figured If I get this type of hitch carrier then I can expand my search radius and get something I want (miles/yr/color) rather than settle or spend more on plastics. Just a toy I can mess with… make it my tacos robin. Don’t want to remove the canopy or stuff inside and not interested in getting another trailer (sold old 5x10 due to limited space).

I do everything alone. Except use a ramp for loading a bike into a truck bed. Not worth the risk.
And since we’re posting Honda’s… my garage queen. Restored in an underground condo parking during winter lol

I alternate between those yellow rims and stock black depending on mood lol

I have an very nice, garage kept 86 (last year made) CT110 with 63 miles. A vintage one with the hi/low transmission. New ones don't have it.
    I'll sell it!
The new ones are cool. My buddy is looking for a 4wheeler and every CT125 we have seen at the dealers was marked "sold"

Yamaha Wr250r, so about 350lbs with farkles, rack, and panniers on it. With airbags at 30psi, truck handles great.

Nice setup. Makes me want another dual sport real bad. Also love the MTB up top. I’ve been looking at side mount bike rails to mount to my CBI overland bed bars.

Loading by yourself is easier, but you have to be prepared with that first strap. The ramp also can be used to prop the bike up.

While my Softopper folds easily, I camp in the bed, so the hitch carrier can keep things a bit cleaner? And, not having the ramps to deal with. If I was just hitting trails, I would load it in the bed.

In the end, it is about options and certainly saves having to deal with a trailer. In this area, that would be extra fees if using a ferry.

IIRC the Taco isn't supposed to have more than 500 lbs of weight on the hitch so as long as your hitch hauler and wet weight of the bike together are less than 500lbs you should be fine, I'm sure it doesn't help the Taco lean or leaf sag though.
