My kiddo has brought me back into the world of RC. Can't have too many expensive hobbies huh :proposetoast:

Picked him up a SCX24 and I bought an Enduro Knightrunner. He got bored with the SCX24 and pretty much stole the Knightrunner so I picked up an Arrma Vorteks and a buddy caught wind of it and is giving my kiddo his old RC10T3 that he used to race in the early 00's

Is this specifically made for the trx or do you have to modify to fit it. Man I want a 3rd gen body

It will fit any 313mm wheelbase chassis. I've got a cheap Auster crawler chassis that I might mount one of these on. ;)

Nice, however those XL KM3's look a bit nuts on there. Those fenders will have to go

Looks about what 43s would look like if you didn't trim at all

Its a terrible body. The Metric was a better rendition with separate cab and bed. Lets face it, the knightrunner is the closest thing we have in lexan. And its a 3rd gen. Uhg.

It's not the most accurate body but neither was the sr5 yota hardbody from rc4wd. I'll take what I can get

It would certainly been better as a two piece body, like the Metric is/was.
This body, i would be inclined to high-side, fender chop and slam
I think it the lower profile would put closer to proportional, albeit with only 3/4 of a door...lol

And if your paying for a license, its fucking sad.

This is a major corporation now, they should at least be able to out scale a “non licensed” knightrunner. No offense to James knight because he will design awesome parts for anything, but is Associated really getting away without a license for this body?

Can’t disagree. Proline is as hit-and-miss with their body designs, as they have always been. You would think they could dial it in. They obviously do not have very good designers. They need to hire better. James Knight on the other hand is an exceptionally good designer. It goes without saying that licensing itself does not make for an accurate body, it’s all in the design. Element RC is well thought out in my opinion. They have taken a pass on the licensed bodies and spent it on designers and passed whatever savings on to the consumer. Look at their unlicensed kits, they are top-tier value. Another company who has excellent body designers is MST. All their bodies are unlicensed but look incredible.

Thank you. I agree a licensed body doesn’t make a good looking body and that a fact. Its just a shame to waste it making it look like a monster truck basher body. The Chevrolet bodies they put out are just as bad, the disproportioned windows, etc. i just have nothing good to say. I will pass on this one. And like you said, without good designers, its a waste. The element ecto is a strange looking body, but I thought, if i cut the bed and make it look like wheel wells it could be sweet…and it is.

I wonder sometimes. Maybe it’s too expensive to license say a Tacoma body so makers design it to be “close but not infringing”? Might also be true that if you made a real Tacoma, it wouldn’t fit enough chassis to be profitable.

I’ve never really liked many of the aftermarket bodies as far as replicas go.

The Mfab Toyota bodies are very accurate but not licensed I don't believe. They are spendy but very detailed and to scale. I was impressed with how my 3rd gen Minime's details are to the real thing. However, they are heavy and I don't believe he makes a 2nd gen yet.
