I like the idea of your rack over your cap.

Hopefully you're rack over camper is removable or hopefully you built it with enough clearance to remove the cap or bed at one point later.

Don't look like it. Seemed like it's brace at every weld point on the tube. Maybe there's enough gap on the top and side to pull the camper/bed straight back?

Can probably slide the camper straight back and off, and then twist the bed out. Pain in the neck but looks potentially doable.

Or he said fuck it and said "that's future me's problem". Do you know how many times I have said that and I wanted to slap the fuck out of past me?

It clears the rack. I had to remove the top to weld it up.I’m actually able to haul a 8’ piece of trim board from the store. I still have to add some anchor points. I just needed to do something to carry a kayak or a ladder.

This has been on my to-do list for a while, I love that sunglass holder in our 4runner. Did it just bolt right up or did you guys have to come up with a way to mount it?

Haha definitely not a bolt on. The front of it just slides in where the cutouts for the stock light goes, but the rear requires a threaded nut in the roof. I epoxied a flat piece of metal with a nut on it to the roof for this. You MAY be able to find the bracket that the 4runner uses and get that up there somehow.

I think I got this one on ebay, but it was years ago.

Very nice. What product did you use? Is it battery powered or wired? If the latter, how did you wire it? Thanks.

I used this tutorial as a guideline.
    https://youtu.be/77t1UW4Qc7g

I omitted the magnetic switch because I want to be able to turn them on even with the tailgate closed. Basically ran a wire from the battery through the firewall under the cab and bed and into the driverside taillight area to wire up the switch and light strip.

LED I used: this was the perfect length for a 6ft bed.
    ALITOVE 16.4ft 5050 SMD Black PCB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MXY16HZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Switch I used: you'll only need 2 of the 5 wires unless you also want it to illuminate.
    19mm Latching Push Button... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076GYW4KX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    In-line fuse I used:
    Nilight 10 Pack NI-FH01 Inline... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07426WCLM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Magnetic switch if you prefer to use it:
    Directed Electronics 8600 Micro... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009SUEZY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Here's how it looks lit up in my garage during the day. Pretty bright still.
