I can tell you I don’t have a needle bearing on the right side…no idea why they machined it that way, but the shaft doesn’t need the needle bearing because it rides on the spider and a ball bearing on the outside. The drivers side only has the needle bearing to ride on.

Shit….I could be wrong….couple beers down working in the truck….I can’t say for sure if there’s no needle inside…..just that there’s not one outside…..if I was home I could just look at my spare front diff but oh well.

Picking up a lower pivot kit second hand. This is turning into quite the front end makeover :benchpress:

Couple of pages back there was lathe talk. Been wanting one and decided to scope it out again found this gem on OfferUp. Has quite a bit of tooling and even a taper attachment. This thread continues to helps me spend my money:spending: just not at JD this time.

    thanks for helping find it!

It’s rolling. Still need to adjust LCA a little bit. But we’ll deal with that after KOH.
Plus some other parts are in the works to build the front bumper.

Yeah she’s a roller. Tried lca’s one position forward and with the cams centered the tie rod hits the coil. Seemed to be a world of clearance when cycling, but real world on the ground says different. Actual alignment might make it clear but we’ll be safe and just scoot the lca to the furthest rear position. Gonna do that one night after I get back from KOH and then get this beast aligned for a real test drive. Then onto building a new front bumper and skids

Thanks for calling earlier @81Trekker after Wills frustration with radflo following the build specs. Hose and fittings seem to be ok, just not the “planned” positioning of things. Can always readdress and move the resi’s and fittings after he drives it around a bit and we start tuning it

I can't leave anything well enough alone
To those of you who have upgraded to the Howe TC pump kit, is anyone willing to sell me the OEM PS reservoir and mount? I chopped up the mount to relocate it and fit my ARB compressor there. Now want to relocate the compressor to the back and need an unmodified reservoir stand. I would assume this is just taking up space if you still have it and would like to make a few bucks on it... upgrading to the good pump kit is not in the cards for me right now, although I do want it. Thanks in advance

So, I'm looking for some opinions. I will be building a new front bumper and am wanting to keep it as light as possible for better weight distribution. Does anybody think 1/8 plate would be enough for a winch bumper? I would do overlays in crucial areas like the winch box and in mounting locations. Or do I just go straight to 3/16 and deal with the weight?

I say minimum 3/16 for the winch plate but you could get away with 1/8” wings imo

I will be trying to utilize as much tube as I can instead of plate, but was looking at making some boxed uprights that are ribbed internally etc. Going to take a swing at a pre runner style bumper that will still fit the winch.

Honestly don't have a goal. As light as possible without sacrificing safety.

I gotcha. As a point of reference, my bumper is 1/4" plate for the winch and 1.75x.120 DOM wings and it weighs 74 lbs empty before I added the hoop, then 83 lbs once I added the light hoop. Most steel winch bumpers are 115-140. Curious to see what you come up with.
