what issue you having? i thought my derailer was messed up but it turned out to be the cassette making all the noise. Shamano outsourced their cassettes to china. Once the bike tech replaced the cassette with the real Japanese one, i havent had an issue.

. It has a couple of spots on the lower gear range where it wants to jump from gear to gear. Local shop said it was bent and did some adjustment. Got better, but I usually just skip over the bad spot.

I upgraded the tires on the Marlin I had and it made a lot of difference. I’m definitely a newbie at this and I just never felt like I “fit” the Marlin. It was a medium frame on the 29, so I just figured that was my problem. Only thing I ever sold for what I paid new.

That's usually a bent hanger or cage. A new one *usually solves the issue, if you've already tried replacing the housing and cable, then tuning it can't dial it out.

I'm having the same issue with my Roscoe 7 right now. It's the SX derailleur. Skips/clicks all the time. Going to swap it out for a gx if/when it finally breaks. Other than that I love the bike

It’s weird you say that, because I bought my wife and I both Marlin 6’s, hers in Small and mine in M/L, for a steal so I couldn’t pass it up even though I was sure I needed at least a Large.

I rode the 6 for a season and sold it buy my 7 in Large. I still don’t feel like the 7 is the right “fit” for me either. Although I’m not sure if it’s because I actually need an XL or it’s just the Marlin’s geometry that makes it feel off for me. I’m hoping this season I can try out a Roscoe in L or XL and see how it feels and if it’s worth the cost to upgrade.

Yeah, it was an odd feeling. Just always felt like I was one the verge of losing it. I spent my younger years on BMX, so the Roscoe fits or feels like more of what I’m used to. I tend to do more stupid stuff now, but it’s definitely a better fit. I was really hesitant on spending the difference on the bike, but I’ve not regretted it so far. Except when I cracked my shoulder-despised that thing then.

Finally snagged a gravel/road bike to complement the full suspension. Might be able to do a maiden ride if the snow holds back.

Speaking of gravel bikes, you guys ever heard of Framed bikes? They have a carbon framed gravel bike that caught my eye but can't find a lot of info on their gravel bikes, specifically their carbon frames. Anyone have one?

They're essentially china/taiwan open mold bikes. I'm sure they're just fine.

My shop is looking to carry Giant next season. A Revolt will probably end up in my garage if so.

I found them looking at Fat Bikes. I'm torn between getting a gravel bike and a fat bike next. The child in me wants a fat bike, the adult in me wants the gravel bike...

They're knocking it out of the park this year with color schemes.

Is that a revolt? I just got an ad for them the other day and the 2022 model looks super solid

we sold a few framed fattys at performance when i was working there.

they weren't as nice as the borealis that came through, but loads better than the motobecanes people would bring in.

havent seen their gravel lineup though.

I've always liked Giants. I had a couple in the late 90's but their paint was always pretty lame. Some of their designs the last few years have been very nice.

They're big in the fat bike scene, mainly because cost.

Nothing stellar about them, but they're decent bikes from what I've seen/heard.

Yup! Went out to find a 2021 or 2022 model in the Boston area and pretty much got laughed out of two shops. No Revolts in stock but plenty of Specialized Crux’s and Diverges for more than I was willing to spend. Went on Pinkbike and found this 2020 in mint shape.
