All you need is the ability to drop one very small amount of solder on the disconnected wire and solder point on the board.

Ask someone you know if they have a soldering gun/pen, it could save you time and money.

Not to mention the aggravation in trying to get KT :lalala:JO to respond or, heaven forbid, make it right.

I just received mine yesterday and after reading your post decided to take a closer look and everything looks fine(I hope) noticed that there were 2 plugs for connecting the light unit into the harness, wondering if yours was the same and why is there 2 plugs, any idea, thanks

It's an additional 12v pigtail to add another LED if you are so inclined. I saw those and am trying to think of what else can I light up using them.

No need to pull the door panel at all. The Taco has 2 screws that need to come off, one behind the door handle bowl, and the other underneath an unsecured piece of felt in the well next to the window actuators.

Once you pull the actuator panel off, disconnect it entirely so you can fit your hand in the door panel gap, then pull forward to create an opening. The back of the panel is sharp! Pulling the door panel forward allows you to feed the bowl light red/black wire combo down to the actuator opening.

Overall it's VERY easy. Took me 15 minutes to do all four doors.

I loosened the two screws and then used some speaker wire to fish down to the arm rest, then just taped the connector to the wire and pulled it through. Easy and you don't have to jam your hand behind the panel.

Trust me man....there's other companies/people that we will all encounter at some point and probably more than once in our lifetime that has poor customer service/support or we're not satisfied with whatever they offer as a solution if a solution is even offered.

Well, I've had success on two levels so far. First, @playdixie offered me an extra light he had - put it in today's mail for me. Second, I opted to pick up a battery powered soldering pen at our local hardware store and I was able to repair (actually ended up having to resolder both wires to the circuit board) and install the original. I will be glad to have the extra now just in case my solder work doesn't hold up.

Now, I wait and see if I get a response from anyone at KTJO.

I know that there are others but this one is off the charts f#%^ed up in business relations and quality control. People that get screwed over as bad as the grab handle incident may forgive but don’t forget. I think that’s why this thread has so much life to it. :)

So...you're serious about this cheapy being the shiz? It's in my cart but I want to be sure. I have a couple Wellers, 1 old 40W and I think my newer one is maybe a 60W but I'm a sucker for gadgets and I'm doing a fair bit of soldering lately with all these Taco projects.

I have enjoyed mine for years. Worked like a champ on everything from circuit boards to heavy gauge wires. Something my PoS couldn't handle.
