We are spoiled indeed! Just when I think I have my mind wrapped around which Gretsch I want, I get upended by another, damn interweb! That doesn't happen with Gibson for me, I know I like SG and LP standards, easy. Standard teles from Fender, easy. Gretsch just turns me on my head every time.

Not married yet over here, maybe someday she'll let me marry her haha. Things look good down the road though, she likes seeing my guitars hung on the living room wall and my silverface super reverb in the corner too! (Can't blame her, that amp looks fancy as f*ck.) She knows I like to build things too, so I need to get onto that built-in shelf project for the three rooms that need them so she doesn't change her mind!

I need to listen to more Bo Diddley, he's one that just seems to have always eluded my attention. I love the combination of rhythm and lead playing a single guitar gets to do in that style, often at the same time, and I always want to improve my right-hand technique. All those guys are so great for broadening your horizons.

You guys try to humidify in the winter, or do the guitars come down off their stands and hibernate until the moisture comes back?

All the guitars in their cases for the winter - have a cheap laminate fender that sits out, but I love having my nicer guitars within grabbing reach. I wish I had the ability to let them dry up and not care if they crack, but it would drive me nuts. Unfortunately using a humidifier is like pissing into the wind around here. With the cold dry air, furnace, and pellet stove combined, nothing can come close to keeping the moisture level around.

I watch guys like John Mayer or Dave Matthews playing their acoustics and can see they are beat to shit and full of cracks. When the light reflects right I can see the guitars are very dehydrated and wavy topped.

I'm "lucky" enough to live in a damp house. We cook with propane and that puts moisture in the air. Just shy of 50% in the dead of winter in CT.

My acoustics if it's really bad from the heat running all the time, but I still get them out. I usually will leave on in a case with a humidity pack and then swap the with another guitar every month.

Exactly. Been eyeing an amp I used as a teenager. Would be cool to have as a little practice amp not to mention the nostalgia.

I hear you, I still do the same thing from time to time on CL for the one I had as a teenager.

    What was it? Just curious.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
It’s those little 5-15w heads, that always get me. If those were around when I was a kid I would have a room full of them!

i definitely need to look at something like that. 100w head in my little home studio is unnecessary unless i'm trying to palm mute the whole neighborhood to death.
