I wish I was down at KOH avoiding all the salt and wet. I need some quality steel-toed snow boots...

Maybe look into composite toe boots if you'll be wet and in the snow.

It would be super fun to watch, chase and hangout with TW peeps and 4x4 enthusiasts from all over.

Composite, steel, whatever. I have timberlands for work that are composite and they don't weigh much more than regular tennis shoes. Super nice.

Holy shit the drone cameras take KoH to a new level for me as a viewer. I love watching pretty much any racing and KoH really is several orders of magnitude cooler with the drones.

They're lighter and they don't freeze your toe beans like a steel shank does.

Wisdom right here. Composites are much better than steel in the cold. Still act as a bit of a heat sink after a while but nothing's perfect.

As long as my toe-beans are dry, all is right in the world.

Surprisingly enough, if you just submit to them being wet and are wearing the right socks (real wool), they'll be warm regardless of how dry they are. I am in a unique position where I have to walk miles in the snow for work and I've learned that the trade off is that when "dry go up" "walking go down." I had tendonitis for over a month after learning this lesson. Basically the more waterproof a boot is, the worse it is for walking and moving around.

Dry socks and footwear for afterwards are a must though.
From one who knows via personal suffering.

Also true. Tested that first-hand last year while loading a shot with water about six inches deeper than my muck boots are tall...

The suffering is real. I also tend to just grab my work boots as daily footwear for reasons. Put a lot of miles on them over the years.

One of the best things I've done in recent years though was switching from sneakers/hiking boots to classic leather boots and wool socks as regular daily footwear. After initial break-in, my foot posture has greatly improved and my feet/ankles aren't as sore.

    Hooray. Boots....

One of the best gifts my wife ever gave me was a boot and glove dryer. I wish I had a portable one to keep in my truck.

I need one. Somehow manage to completely soak a pair of footwear at least twice a year.
