Let's see those Alu-cab setups

Lets see those Explorer canopy setups inside! Mine currently looks like this, im working on building a box for the GZ1000Core to sit on the wheel well and be tucked out of the way. My cupboard is just the cupboard, i opted against the one with the cups and containers. All my AluCab stuff comes from Juniper Overland here in CO.

 

Finished running power today. Materials used:



Tied 10 AWG into power distribution box:



Ran wiring down and out from engine bay:



The along the frame to the rear:





Then up to where the power panel cutout is in the bed (small, 2 conductor black wire is the All-Cab LED power cable):



After cutting out the hole, connected to the power panel. Connected the All-Cab LED wires using the blue connectors tapped into the red & yellow wires. Wanted to have it set up so I have to turn on the switch on the power panel to put power to the LEDs:




All done!

Do you need all that stuff daily? Like do you find yourself in situations on the road where you actually use all that?

 

The 1st aid kit have used quite a few times as I've come upon accidents (am EMT). The Plano box has stuff like flares, safety type stuff which have used as well. Ammo can is actually bottle jack with extensions since oem jack is too short. Shovel and ax just don't feel like stuffing it in the garage, easier to leave it mounted.

 

I put my blue sea panel in the cubby just below where you put yours. May i ask whats on the back side to keep water away from that panel in your configuration?

 

I haven't covered it as yet. Water can probably splash up into there, but it has to get past the cubby sticking out below it. Plan is to get a plastic cover and fit around it, probably with bolt/nyloc in each corner.

Looking at this battery kit wanna install it before my camper comes in March. Overall plan was to run this plus the cascadia hood solar panel and just run power/ground back to a blue sea switch panel and breaker back to the camper rather than taking space up in the bed with batteries and controllers back there. I’m just a weekend 2-3 day guy at most so don’t need battery banks and what not. Anyone run something similar or advise against it?

 

The silver reflective bubble sheets cut to fit with Velcro to attach will likely be to most viable option. Consider the results similar to that of insulating a garage door- it’s never going to be as good as exterior walls (unless you paid extra for the spray foamed garage door). You could layer it and spray adhesive some carpet to add to the insulation while covering the reflective silver.

I plan on giving it a try but not likely until summer.

 

This is what i plan on doing or the more rigid foam material with the reflective aluminum color on each side, comes in big sheets. I was thinking of applying carpet to this material to make it look better on the gull wing doors, plus then i could put patches on it!

Anyone buy the goose gear electrical panel pair and wanna sell the second one?

 

I'm getting ready to place an order for an explorer canopy for my 3rd gen, does anyone know what size load bar feet are needed for an RTT to clear a prinsu style rack on the cab? Squinting at pics it seems like the 40mm would be enough but I'm not sure.

First, LOVE IT!
I'm actually doing a VERY similar build (once my truck shows up, the canopy camper is waiting, passenger side Goose Gear (same setup) on order, doing a RedArc TVMS with the Manager30). A couple other differences, but damn close. My question for you is..that last shot of the electrical setup, can you take a picture a bit zoomed out from there? Perspective just has me not quite seeing it right I think. Thanks!

 

How do you like the bed slide with this set up? I was looking at either doing this or the decked system.

 

Can anyone provide a link for the connector that takes the MC-4 from a solar panel and connects it to the built-in receiver on the roof of the Canopy Camper? Thought it was an Anderson connector, but neither of the ones I ordered fit. I can't seem to order the right connector online.

In case anyone has a similar issue in the future, you will want a 50A Anderson connector. Amazon sell them.

Build out coming along nicely. Waiting for mounts for solar panels, the alucab water tank and spare tire carrier. Using an ecoflow delta for my power source. Will be adding a shore power plug on left rear to connect to ecoflow. Power is already ran by tinyrigco.com for this stand alone unit. Just have to hook up the solar and it's ready to go. Trying to figure out how to make a connection for the propane tank so I can have an inside outside system.
