Drop chameleons?

 

I saw this in some of my groups.

 

And they say there is no such thing as a free lunch

and it was cold as hell here today... low 60’s this morning.

 

Speaking of lego video games, does anyone here play any of them?
I have played a few, but I recently pre-ordered the next installment for the Lego Star Wars series, it's called the Skywalker Saga, due to release in April.
You get to play through every episode of star wars. It looks to be a great game that has been delayed a couple times. I cannot wait to play through, just not sure if I'll start on episode 4, or episode 1.

That being said, I am a bigger fan of Lego than I am of Star Wars, but SW is still pretty awesome.

I've been playing the Starwars ones for a while. Saw they were coming out with the new one so I got back into them. Currently playing the Marvel ones

From the first image that was released, I liked Luke's flight helmet. Now that more pics are available the design really seems to falls apart...

 

Just ordered the Mandalorian helmet.

Too bad the Boba Fett one is out of stock.

If it comes back in to stock before my kiddo's birthday (May), I might order it as well for his birthday gift.

 

The goggles are all wrong. They just don't look right.

 

I actually found my Boba Fett at a local Target. The second I saw it, i snatched him right up.

Yup, and TLG getting rid of a ton of random part designs in limited colors. Smaller runs of parts increased COGS and cut into their profitability. Believe that also coincided with a new ceo as well which was not part of the ole K family.

 

Pretty much. New CEO was brought in to help the company recover. They got into that spot for a variety of reasons, part of which was the excessively large parts/color catalog. Add to that a trend of oversimplification of sets ("juniorization") and a significant effort to diversify from their core product (clothing, video games, etc).

It's amusing that Lego is doing the exact same thing now while on the other end of the financial spectrum. They are the largest toy company globally, netting over a billion in profit last year. The parts and color catalog seem to grow on almost a monthly basis, and they have again diversified into other markets, though this time through partnerships rather than trying to do everything in-house.

Also funny that this road to recovery and unparalleled success coincided with the company abandoning the past ethos of promoting creativity and instead focusing on building the model in the box and collecting more sets, but that is a rant for another time...
