Inverter Wired to 12v Constant Power?

    TRD OR.

    Has factory inverter. 400w anytime mod.

    Truck has a dual battery.

    I’d like to move the oem 12v source that feeds the system over to the house battery to be able to run the inverter independently of the truck being on.

    I would upgrade the inverter to something aftermarket but don’t have a huge need for one other than randomly charging a couple tool batteries while camping (everything else is 12v).

    I found a little bit of info in the 3rd gen pages but that’s really about it. Posted by @caribe makaira

    3 questions -

    1. Has anyone done this to a second gen?

    2. If you have, did you do it like the diagram shows?

    3. If so, where the hell is the “J5 junction connector” in the harness?

    That is NOT an '11 Inverter circuit info.
    No need to search for a junction the '11 doesn't have for that circuit.
    De-pin the switch connector and add fuse battery source to new wires and terminals to slots vacated. Insulate the de-pinned terminals. (or repurpose to other added circuits)
    The anytime-inverter modification will be required if the inverter is to be activated with engine off.

    If I’m reading it right, it looks like the switched ignition source into pin 4 at the inverter switch needs moved to a constant 12v source. And pin 5 on the relay needs to be moved to the house battery.

    There is a little more to it if you want it to work as 400w. You really want the junction block upstream of the switch to be full time 12v source. You also need to either jumper out the neutral safety switch or rewire as appropriate if you have an automatic.

    How do you plan on removing the 100 amp fuse feed that's at the fuse box to the house battery?

    Revisiting this….

    Sorted out the 12v+ battery feed to relay. I’ll post details if I can get everything to work.

    Working on sorting the switch out now.

    Now I need to rewire the switch and the relay from the “10a IG1 #2” fuse to 12v+ constant.

    It looks as simple as depinning pin #1 (light green/black) and pin #4 (light green) on the switch and repinning them both with a 12v+ constant source.

    As for relay, it looks like pin #1 (light green) also get a it’s switched power from “10a IG1 #2”. Depinning and repinning this with a 12v+ constant source sound sort this out.

    I do have one question.

    How the hell do you remove the auxiliary relay panel that’s connected to the back side of the fuse block where the inverter relay lives?

    If you upgrade the inverter output, you’ll likely want to just run new wiring that can handle the current draw of the bigger inverter.

    Don’t burn your truck down.

    I think you should abandon the project.
    The inverter relay (AC SKT Relay) is in the engine bay fuse box.

    Why?

    I know where the relay is.

    Just curious how to separate the relay box from the main fuse block without damaging the clips that hold it together to get to the underside to depin/repin the relay.

    Like the post says, it’s the factory
    inverter.

    Why remove the whole block, just cut the green wire and splice in a new one directly fused to the battery.
