I think the factory JBL system is 2ohm speakers. You'd be better of running aftermarket 2-3 ohm speakers from infinity or JBL if you're keeping the factory head unit and JBL amp.

No prob. That’s what I would do! Just an FYI, you may still have a bit of a rake; just not a prominent as with the stage 3. And I’m going the opposite way than you are, eventually will be adding a topper and upping to stage 3.

You have to purposely avoid looking at a product price once bought, we don’t need that added torture. You win some you lose some

Mine popped up on an add from IG. I followed the add, clicked the details button, sale came up as code ATLAS, buy 3 or 4 and get one free. Look up the shopping tag for IG. Hope you can get it.

You right, I just looked this morning and now it's a 10% off with an email. Must have been a quick marketing set up. Let me see if I find the link, link is dead too.

Here is a screen shot of the order and they shipped already also, which is super quick.

I feel your pain! It was an Entune 3.0 unit from Infotainment.com. They send you the head unit and the necessary wiring adapters. It was not cheap. I told myself I could offset some of the cost by them buying it back, but they only offered $200... so mulling that over.

If it's too expensive like closer to $1k and you're considering that, you can likely pick up a decent head unit from a stereo shop for near that kind of money.

The Alpine Halo 9 I had was a pretty incredible stereo all things considered and was something like $1,500 all-in with an install and Maestro unit. Not an option for everybody, I'm aware, but there are cheaper stereos that do AA/CarPlay and are a huge improvement over OEM.

Has anyone ever documented that an aftermarket head unit is actually producing better sound than a factory unit. For speakers the quality of construction and sound production is apparent. With digital sound I'm not sure the head unit really matters unless you are looking for features that the factory unit doesn't have.
With decades of amateur experience, I finally learned not to get the factory premium unit as they were virtually impossible to upgrade. The money you save by not getting the premium system goes a long way to upgrading components.

Made it to work today, decided to keep the trend of 3G guys parking together. Next to me was a clean 1G. Also not pictured, White TRD Pro and 3G Army Green Access Cab (apparently they didn't get the memo)

It made no difference in sound quality to me.

For my case it was more about having HDMI inputs, a larger screen, and being able to remap the steering wheel controls with a Maestro.

My personal experience is yes. I installed the Joying unit. IMO the Joying sounds better than the stock radio to me. I definitely get more sound from the rear doors for sure.
