I'm also tricked out with Nest products and am still pissed about how Google home dropped support for their Nest Secure/Protect products. I had to move to a service fee based security system.

The latest outdoor cam (Google Nest Cam battery) accurately classifies movement as person, animal, vehicle or other.

I'd like to get some of their outdoor wired cameras with the floodlights. I have a couple year old outdoor cam that only sees movement.

Cool, go for it. The previous version outdoor cam can spot persons if you pay the monthly fee (I think $6) but the new generation is worth spending the coin and ditching the old generation imo (because as you probably know.. if you get too many false alerts you'll just start ignoring them.)

Late to the party but this is the system I got and its amazing, I coupled it with a flow meter so I can keep a eye on how many gallons go thru it. https://www.amazon.com/Filtration-S...iltration+Systems&qid=1643839260&sr=8-1-spons

    Toilet Recommendations!

I'm getting ready to replace the toilets in my house, especially the one in the master. It's one of the first iterations of the low-flush toilet and I hate it. It requires two flushes for everything including piss, and it takes twenty minutes to fill back up. It's a pain to keep clean. The other one works great but it's the original one with a fish tank for a toilet tank, so I'm sure replacing that one will make a dent in the water bill.

Looking for a toilet that won't break the bank (~$300) and actually works well. What have you guys used?

Added outlets in the garage! Now I can leave my compressor in the corner instead of having to drag it out into the middle of my garage every time I want to use it. <3

Also while I was @ the hardware store I grabbed a ton of Eaton Midsize faceplates. These are a little bit wider than the standard sized faceplates and cover up all the gross edges and cracks that the previous owners left around them in every room that they repainted in. They need to learn how to mask, lazy sacks of sh*t lol. It's the little things.

7-10 years ago Costco was selling two piece top flushing toilets by Water Ridge with a soft close lid for 179. I replace 3 toilets in this house and 2 more in my daughters house. Needless to say they are still going strong. Internals have not been replaced and with the exception of one soft close lid which no longer works, these have been an excellent purchase. I have had high end Kholer toilets that haven even come close to the longevity of the WaterRidge.

It's easy enough to take the faceplates off and tape the outlet. Makes masking a non-issue.

EXACTLY. The previous occupants half-assed a bunch of projects. They should have pulled them off and masked.. but they just painted around most of them. They also mounted a fan remote bracket on a wall crooked af and painted around that too, so when you remove it, it's a completely different color :/

I'm guessing this was the previous owners and not the builders

Ah, the ol flammable duct tape on wire connections. The people that fixed up my place wrapped the outlets in duct tape instead of electrical tape.

Ive been fixing them as I gradually replace them with decora devices.

Any reason not to ditch the twist connectors and just wire the fixture directly to the wire and eliminate the break in the line?
