I just had my 19 Tacoma totaled because someone put a granular material in my fuel tank. Evidently it was NOT filtered by the sock in the tank. The engine was destroyed. Luckily, I have great insurance and the truck was paid for.

My question to you guys is, (Yes, Ive since purchased a locking fuel cap) is there a way to put an INLINE fuel filter IE like the older Tacomas? Im not taking any chances with the next Tacoma.
Also, Does anyone know anyone who makes a locking fuel door for Gen 3s?

    TIA!!

someone opened the fuel door, unscrewed the gas cap, and poured a granular substance into the vehicle. you'd think they would lock the gas tank especially these days where almost everyone is a deranged asshole.

    Yes, This.
I have no idea who or why. All I can do at this point is prepare. So got my Ring cam set up and Glock at the ready.
Unfortunately, I have two trucks and they both wont fit in my garage.

    They totaled it, wow!

Don’t believe anyone makes a locking fuel door so the locking cap is your only line of future defense.

Yes, 32K to fix. Im thinking of having a custom lock installed using the older Tacoma lock. What do you guys think?

Id get some IP Cams, dashcam setup for movement around vehicle and did they try to get fingerprints off gas door, etc? People know the cops are too busy to track this stuff. Now, if your messing with someones spouse, then be thankful it was the truck and not some other means of revenge.

There's been random stuff happening. The sad part is I live in what was always known as a nice area. The other day, during broad daylight the landscapers work truck was broken into and 2k worth of tools was stolen.
SMH...all I know is one day these fux will be caught and it wont end well for them. :infantry:

Sad part is you can't put a cap in their azz for doing that or while they are doing that.

Unless they are coming at you-bro with intent to do bodily harm to you or yours you'd be liable for all manner of shit
for cappin-their-azz.... they'd end up suing you too.

The majority 99.999999% of the population would be behind you on your actions but the D.A. would have a field day
    with that case.

Heck I'm not even sure if a good ass-whuppin wouldn't get you in some kind of trouble...

Sad state of affairs.... who the fck would do that anyway.... people got too much time on their hands.
