There is oil temp. Not sure about pressure though. It may only be a switch?

You can already get this info and much, much more with a cheap OBD adapter and a cheap app.

I do not know for sure if we have an oil pressure sensor or just a switch.

Interesting. My kid is pretty damn good with Linux. Question is how do you get to the code to change it.

OP spends too much time on Reddit where people think online "movements" have anything but fuck-all of an impact in the real world.

That other thread concluded that it was a calculated value. Not an actual sensor anywhere on the motor. Which kind of makes sense

I’m thinking we can take advantage of the update system. Right now I’m disassembling one of the update files from the Toyota website. (Disassembling for those that don’t know, I’m changing the code from stuff the computer can read to human readable source code)

Bro it’s for fun, the company can do whatever it wants, it has a social obligation to make money. I’m not some social justice communist warrior that has thinks they have to say yes.

Scanguage will still display it, and even if it's 'calculated' the ecu it taking it as a reading so it's likely accurate enough for nerdy owners..
I run trans temps 1+2, water temp, and oil temp on my SG2 while I tow. Gives me a nice fuzzy feeling to see them all at once.

    I voted no.

I have Carista adapter with OBD Fusion and Torque Pro and monitor my temps occasionally. Originally all the time and when towing, but now just periodically when towing.

Reason I voted no is because nothing really changes and monitoring it shows it's basically a waste of my attention while driving. Stock and with an aftermarket cooler showed there was not much to see.

It does move and I think people seeing it move would cause more issues for the Service dept. placating people, than actual tranny issues.

This is a very fair criticism, thanks for not calling me a sweaty Reddit user and actually saying why you said no.

    Well shit! Haaha!

One thing on your AT temp affecting engine temp. Aluminum is a great heat conductor. I was surprised how hot the bell housing and transmission got from just idling the engine.

Aluminum also disperses heat very well.

I cant imagine your poll being as comprehensive as the studies that toyota has done on their own about consumer wants and needs.

If my truck had an "Attitude Indicator" in it, I would never get rid of the Check Engine light !

In fact they would probably send someone to take my truck away....
