Why wouldn’t a school want to teach stick? It’s easy.

    Good Question...
I still start my students with Oxy fuel welding (8th grade) then most students come in as sophomores with a year of SMAW (stick) and GMAW (Mig). Junior year they get TIG and manufacturing. From Junior stand on they can earn dual credit with Northland Technical College and Senior standing they can test for AWS Welder I certification or any AWS certification in SMAW and TIG. Doesn't make sense-still a standard welding method in industry.

Oh there will be some mods all right
I have several of those in that size and the size down from that. Not amazing quality but for that price definitely worth it.

good? Google says mig is easier

I had the same ? and said its easy, maybe they cant do the welding that takes more skill:confused: Mig is easier because you dont have to compensate for the stick getting shorter(thats what Google says
If you can lay good beads stick welding you should be good doing Mig
Must the reason I like stick since it takes more talento_O

In the field gas pipe is stick welded and you have to test at each site

I use the yellow lid Home Depot tough totes whenever I need to tote gear around. They're pretty decent.

That's what I have in my garage! They were really handy when I had the Taco with the tonneau cover.

Yup... -18 this morning. Glad I put in seat heaters... wishing I had a heated steering wheel.

I'm so happy with this car and it has more creature comforts than anything I've ever owned but damn it the steering wheel isn't heated. But the Wilderness editions in Canada get the heated steering wheel. Sick of it :p

I have heard about a conversion from a Camery I think for the Taco... but I don't want the airbag problems. Those northern cousins sure do get the cool stuff...

I think of the spring I'm going to be looking for a cover for my taco for this exact reason. Put stuff in the tote, slide it in bed, cover and don't worry about it

    My Frontier does..... :D

What about a northern cousin conversion?

    Wait.....

The nice thing about those totes is that you can put stuff in the recessed part of the lid for easy access.

And because of the design, unless it's absolutely hammering down they'll keep water out.
